I think something like 2000 or more Americans die from heart attacks every day but know one talks about that.

I'm not really worried about swine flu but I guess people get freaked out because its pretty contagious and can kill whole towns and stuff. Just some food for thought.

There is only two type's of people I can't stand. Those that intolerant of other people's cultures....and the dutch.

I wonder why people have died in Mexico from this type of flu??? Uhhh, maybe the fact that they live in poverty for the most part and can't just run down to the local drugstore and get some medicine to help? A lot of families would have to drive over an hour let alone have a vehicle to make the trip to get what they need.

Above all else, proper hygiene practices would prevent a lot of this.

As a counter point, US stockpiles of regular influenza vaccine are usually pretty pathetic. You can blame the drug companies and insurance companies for this situation, oh, don't forget lawyers.

Yup, its amazing the way the media just glosses over these facts. As well as the fact that those that have it in our country are pretty much going through the regular stages of any influenza. Yeah, we just had a 2 year old baby die (first to die in this country), but people die from the flu every year.

Because human to human transmission was nearly impossible at the time. It's still on the WHO's hit list as flu viruses tend to mutate.
