39740, I bought a new toy Posted by Dualgen2, Apr-22-09 10:20 PM
After being out of the car world for a couple years and owning an automatic Legacy GT and now an automatic Corolla S, I decided to save up for a "toy" to drive on the weekend and nice days. I bought a pearl white/black leather 92 3000GT VR4. I found the car locally when I was bored and searching the whole country for VR4's and it was such a good deal I couldn't pass it up. Same owner since 1995, with most maintenance done within the last 6,000 miles (timing belt, pads/rotors all the way around and some transmission work. All it needs is, some trim painting (faded), fluid changes, a good detail and 4 tires but that only because they are dry rotted from sitting and never being driven. I got it from an older guy who bought it as a fun car but later bought a Viper and never sold the VR4. Did I mention the car only has 45,600 miles!?!?! Some of you remember that I used to have a VR4 before but I drove it daily and it was annoying whenever it broke, but now it's a 2nd car and working at a car dealership has it's perks. I just bought it today and did the state inspection but I still need tags and the tires. Once it's all clean I'll post pictures.

sorry. those links are sooooo old and of my old VR4. I'll get pictures up soon. Long day tomorrow. Waking up early to get an amp from a friend, hopefuly go buy some tires (any recommendations?), go to my shop and change the oil, wipers and do a complete interior and exterior detail on the car. Already noticed a couple things that bring me back to the good old days of owning an older car. 1st to 2nd gear doesn't grind but it sometimes "pops" and/or isn't very smooth. Check engine light randomly came on 5 miles into owning the car but it turned itself off. Probably a random catalytic converter code but I'll scan it tomorrow.
