long time...
Well I left the gsx converting to rear thing and yeah you were right it is stupid.. my bad.. Well my actual question is wether to go for exterior looks first or go for the engine??
I got 1000 dollars and am willing to spend it on my car but I don't know if it is better to put that money to my engine and maybe turbo my RS making it an RS-T or buying a blitz bodykit and paint my car so thus working on the looks.. The car has a few ugly scratches and stuff will put a pic of my car later.

What would you do in my place??

Get all your maintenance up to date and then put it into the engine IMO. The blitz kit will hurt the looks of your car by making you stick out like a sore thumb and probably give you negative cop attention as well.

Blitz kit is the most common body kit on DSMs too, at least get one of the more rare ones. But IMO the best you can do for the looks of the car is a nice set of rims, lowered, and clean paint.

No! Don't go to the Dark Side!
I would make sure everything was running perfectly in the engine, get my oil changed, perform all the basic stuff. I would prob buy a new Spark Plug/Ignition Setup along with new motor mounts. Then save whatever was left for a turbo setup whenever I got another grand or so. That way I could also watch all the stuff on my car the next couple of weeks and make sure everything was good to go.

If the body was really that agrovating to look at (Like my bodykit can be sometimes) I would fix the body up as long as it was the stock body. Bodykits are a fad, they come and go. I guarentee you will look back a couple of years later at that kit and be to ashamed to drive it because you put it threw such misery putting that kit on.

gsx brakes $250, cold air $100, exhaust $400ish, flush all fluids $100ish, give her a nice wax/detail 50 to a 75 buy nice shit.

and you should still have beer money left

Im a big fan of building up my suspension first here is my list
gsx fronts, disk rears im rs (I have everything but ss lines)
add a rear sway bar
tein flex with edfc
tower braces (have)
new bushings all the way around (soon)
plus some little crap I cant think of all this before I put one thing turbo on

A grand is a chunk of money pick a goal of what you want and get to ordering.

If i had a grand right now, i'd peice together a turbo kit, buy a used egt probe and boost gauge, buy a used boost gauge, buy a flashy light a/f gauge and have fun putting it all in the car.

I was in the same place as you. I got close to buying a kit but you can make a 2g look hot without it. Just browse around and you'll see alot of bad ass un-kitted cars on here.

Spend that money soley on performance. I know it's hard to resist that need for attention, but trust me, if/when you go turbo...you'll love that shit. My friend has a gst we're going to part out soon and the times i rode/drove in that......wow. That little t25 isn't exactly the greatest turbo but just the sound of it spooling and forcing exhaust gas into a 3" downpipe through a 3" catless exhaust....wow.

I mean, do you want your car to look fast and be slow or do you want it fast and fun to drive? Think about what you want now and what's possible down the line. Body kits dont add horsepower and like other guys were telling me, you'll have buyers remorse when you dont have money to make your car faster.

Really, my rs is fun to drive but it's so damn slow. I dont want people dropping revs at me in traffic because my car looks good but can't step up to the plate...you know?

Tou guys are right I also wanted to put it in performance first but 70% of the ones I asked told me to go for looks first.. I think it's dumb too make it look fast but go slow.. so I guess I will buy headers or something and use the rest 2 just paint it over again and fix a few bump and scars.. thx guys.. and sorry for just thinking about going for looks first

That's a fucking hot car. I don't care who sees it, he's done it up right. Even if you didn't see the FMIC on that car, you'd think it was fast. It just oozes sex from every angle. Does that look like a $15,000 car to you? Not anymore. It easily looks like it cost double that when new. And he's boosted it, so you know it will get out there and run like a scared dog if he wants it to.

So, without rambling on any further tonight, give it some thought. Would you feel anything but pride to be seen getting into and out of an Eclipse like Jason's? Tell us more about your own car, eh? What color is it and all that. Maybe we can give you some more ideas.

back on topic, $1k isn't much for boosting. To me you can boost on a budget, but you should still have some funds in case anything goes wrong. If you don't then do what Driggs suggested and just make it clean. No body kits or anything. You'll notice a lot of members on here modify the looks then end up going back to the stock style b/c it just looks so clean. Take DJ for example going back to a more stock look. I as well will be removing the aftermarket spoiler from my eclipse soon and going back to the stock 3-piece and eventually an oem turbo spoiler. Stock with a nice set of rims (or the oem chromies), lowered, 2gb bumpers, skirts, and high rise wing is the best look for these cars

Well I won't have any problems with the cops there are a lot of cars with body kit here on the island.. yesterday I saw a hyundai accent with a body kit, well I thought it was not funnY its like a bycicle with 22 inch rims orso.. Well the island is 62 km long or so give or take so the cops won't mind me.
Well I'm still doubting about it because the thing is that my car is pretty banged up.. the front bumper has a crack in it and i kinda used red silicon to hold it together here's a pic of the outside of tha car

that pic is a few months old.. now there is a bump at the passenger side.. a dog ran into it.. :( :(

will post more pics tomorrow.. look at the driverside there is a black scratch well that was a EX-girlfriend did it. almost killed her.. and the front bumper you can't see alot of the scratches but they are there...

i thought 1000 dollars is not alot of money so I wanted to use it to paint and bodykit rather then putting it into the engine and doing it bit by bit.. Lets say first putting headers, then maybe shocks or something stuff like that.
the 100o dollars I can take care of one of the problems and be finished with it.. don't have to worry anymore about exterior..
That was my thought at first but now I'm confused :(

Looking at your car I would put new springs and struts with a nice 1.5 to 1.75inch drop. There are not to many things you can buy for your car that make it look nice and help with performance too but this will.

Whoa. You mentioned "the island," so I checked your profile. You should really update your profile with where you are, man. I had to trace your IP to find out you're in The Netherlands. Wow. You're quite a ways off from most of us.

Does your car have the Mitsubishi 4G63 or Chrysler 420A engine in it? Non-turbo Eclipses sold outside the US got the Mitsubishi engine, which opens more doors to you in the performance realm. If you've got the 420A, no worries either, but it's something people here need to know before they can give you advice when it's time to go faster.

Your car doesn't look bad to me at all. A good detail could be all it needs (aside from the crack, which we can't see yet). Wash it down, Use a clay bar on it, then polish it (scratch & swirl remover), and finally wax it. It will shine like a diamond.

Otherwise, I would definitely start with suspension in your case. Eibach Sportlines are too low for anything other than long distance touring on smooth highways, but the Pro Kits are very popular. You might consider getting new struts on the car as well. The stockers don't take too well to drops. So, if you can lower the car just a little bit, you'll get better handling and find the look is much sexier.

Next thing I would do is yank the headlights, bake them, and paint the chrome trim black. Not the reflectors around the actual bulbs, but you'll see when you take them apart. This gives the car a real sinister look.

Those two projects, together, should run you less than $500 and will subtly change the look of your car. Once we know what engine you've got in that thing, we can offer suggestions on what to do with the other $500. ;)

His engine is a 420A , and we live in Curacao, the netherlands antilles. I can't say what to do with 1000... well with 2000 i would spend 1000 on a total Redo (paint fix etc) , and then nother 1000 on performance.

first thing you need to do is set your goals for your car (race, show, daily grind) then choose a path that will suit you. $1000 is a lot of money for a first round of maintenance which will set you in the direction you are looking for...example, you want to have a good daily driver, well you could pick up some new suspension bushings all the way around, new brakes (everything...pads...rotors...lines..fluid), possibly wheels? the ones you have on there are a little ugly, new tires, struts, and shocks....I really like to take care of all the "safety" stuff first, driver safety is the most important thing in any car, also you probably will want to have your airbags replaced by a qualified mechanic (unless this is going to be a flat out race car and they will be removed in favor of something like a roll cage and racing seats/harness) good luck with everything and welcome to the 2gnt

Well like clutch just said I got the 420A engine and everything is stock besides the air filter got an cold air intake and the spark plug wires are MSD the rest is stock as hell.. I'm kinda busy all these days that's why I could post any good pics and so but will try tomorrow to wash the car take some pic and post it..
