Don't know what you consider outrageous, but the only car I've had shipped was a Subaru Legacy GT Limited, from St. Petersburg FL, to Roanoke VA and it cost me about $500. This was about 5 years ago. The company was DAS (Dependable Auto Shippers) and the car arrived fine, but dirty on the outside. No complaints.

A couple years ago, late 2005, I was looking into shipping options for getting my GVR4 to Phoenix from eastern New Mexico. Seemed to run me about $500-$1000 depending on who gave me the quote. Of course, the GVR4 was not running at the time, so I think there were additional charges.

Yes. It's my daily driver now. In fact, it's the only running car I have these days. Tuesday, after work, I went to start it and the clutch pedal dropped to the floor. Sure enough, the master was bone dry and there was a decent little puddle under the front. Looks like leakage past the piston on the slave is the culprit.

I poured a couple ounces of brake fluid into the master, wiggled the slave back and forth a bit to get the level to drop in the master, topped it off, put the cap back on, and have been driving it for three days, now, without issue.

I don't know if that's a good thing. :shrug
