Well it seems I can't help myself. I just picked up a 98 GS yesterday in non-running condition. I now have a 95 a 96 and 98, just need a 97 and 99 for the complete 2g set. I'm not yet sure what I'm going to do with it, I think I can get it to run with a couple hours of work but it's got horrible strut tower rust.

The bad:
Strut tower rust (see pics)
No rear speakers
awful carpet
no battery
Dent in rear corner
Dented passenger door
All wiring harnesses unplugged.
Some rice (some interior parts painted white)
Needs a clutch (but I have a spare)
broken passenger door handle (think I've got a spare)

The good:
Some black interior (door panels, dash, door sills, driver rear side panel, center console)
Complete motor
AEM short ram pipe
new axles
rear disc brakes
cat (good for scrap if I part out)
Stock fogs
headlights/taillights/reverse lights in good condition
aftermarket front bumper (looks like the wings west polyurethane one)
working hatch struts :D
new plug wires
ecu should be fine
found $6.42 in it

With that kind of rust on the towers, I'd part her out.

Find a really big garbage can and dump it!

Man, what is it with these cars and that strut tower rust? The last 3 I've looked at around here locally for the heck of it have all had that problem with the rust. That's a frustrating situation.

Makes me happy my '97 has zero strut tower rust.

But, it was also the first thing I prepped to deter rust when I got it. :D

Holy crap! That's a junker/part out. 2g's are known for tower rust but that is bad.

Man you guys are all harsh. Aside from the rust, the car would look pretty good with a little TLC if someone (I guess me) were so inclined to clean it up.

Umm? Because I can easily part it out for profit, or use it for spare parts for my 420a, or get someone to fix the rust for cheap get it running and sell whole. (although the last option may be a dick move because of the rust) Of all the options I'd say there's no way I don't make money off of this car

Well, if you decide to get rid of it I may hit you up for some parts.
