35912, How To Kill A Nissan (2009 GTR) Posted by thedawg, Sep-24-08 03:12 PM
Took these photos at Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, WI on Sunday. Some guys rolled in with these GT-R's, removed their Dealer plates, and decided to drag them over and over and over. Definately not pro's as they had to be reminded over and over to wear a helmet. If I were you, I would not buy these. Wish I was able to get VIN #'s.

was it rosen - or was it boucher? I'll let you know if it was boucher for sure, probably rosen. Photos have been forwarded to frank and gordie. Family friends. They are rosens cars, here they are two weeks ago when they got them in.

Happens all the time at the track. Its usually a Mustang or a Vette.

I'm gonna side with the GTR fans, or at least their owners.
Those were preordered, prepaid cars. Those were not dealer stock, they were already sold to a person. Being the first GTR's in the USA EVER, they are extremely rare and will now end up as a PR problem for Nissan dealers everywhere. Not to mention probably a mechanical issue. How many of us would take an engine with 20 miles on it drag racing?

I made sure my Evo had less than 10 miles on it when I picked up, and told the Sales mgr that if there were more the deal was off. It had 4 miles on the odo when I took delivery. :)

sorry.. but your math skills are a bit lacking Deej.. unless the track allows you to turn around and run the track in the wrong direction or in reverse. Which would be pretty interesting to see people try to stop in the staging lanes. (sorry.. had to point it out)

I saw a GTR on a truck yesterday. Out of the corner of my eye I spotted something that looked like a 2g. I looked up, not a 2g next thing that popped into my head was it almost looked like a 4g with a body kit and then a split second later I realized it was a gtr. :whoa Then it was gone and I caught a glimpse of the back of it in my sideview mirror to confirm. I know there are already a few floating around my area, but I never expected to see one.

Not sure about other states but in IL limited dealers are only getting 3. So finding the dealer that got them, basic common sense will clue the buyers in that their car was on the track.
If i just spent that kind of money on a car and found out they put it on a track before i got it.....I would have one hell of a lawyer. The fact the car is on a track is not a big deal, its the fact you bought the car as a new car and paid full MSRP or more for a car thats already been put on the track.

I thought about that then figured the dealer would just say fuck off, give you your down payment back and sell it to 1 of 100 other people in line for one. Either way the original buyer would get screwed.

A dude that somehow owns a dealership, can afford to pay $200k for two matching supercars, yet can't type or speak english. There's hope for some of our users after all?
YES I DO OWN A DEALERSHIP AND YES I TOOK MY PLATES OFF BEFORE GOING TO THE TRACK. YES, I DID BUY ONE OF THE CARS FROM ROSEN NISSAN, THE OTHER ONE IS FROM A DEALER IN CHICAGO, IL. JUST TO MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER... THESE CARS ARE NOT GOING TO BE RESELLED? AFTER I PAID $96000 AND $94000 ... DO YOU REALLY THINK I CAN RESELL THEM? IN 3 MONTHS THE CAR WILL BE WORTH $70000 ... MAYBE YOU WANT TO BUY THEM?
I am very glad to hear Nissan did an immediate investigation, and I'm happy with whatever they decided. However I'm sure this independent dealer was planning to flip the cars once he was done joyriding them. I doubt Mitsubishi would do anything for their owners in a similar circumstance besides void the warranty.
