3537, This is what I'm thinking of doing. Posted by Blizare, Feb-17-06 07:12 AM
I think I can do something similar to this for less than 2k canadian. :) I guy I was talking to in town ran At 5 psi an 1600cc car ran 12.4 with slicks. no motor mods except for upgraded ignition and weber carb. Car was in stock form.
I funkin LOVE the way it looks guys. The header in amazing looking and a guy in the US makes ALL the exhaust components for like $400 us to fit a t3 and whatever flange for your carb.
See the funny thing is that I can buy a local car for 1K that i've checked out and it need probably 1K of work done. Brakes tune up (did compression check 138 all cyl. Limit is 75-150psi) so it's in amazing shape and ready for boost :)
So yea. Me and the old lady will both have Beetles. But mines turboed and hers is RESTORED. :( She's jealous though and I'm not :P Kinda Cute :P in a sick, twisted sort of way :P What do ya think.

Fuck those lousy krauts! Actually not really, but be prepared, you'll get it and want to completely re-wire the thing. So you'll tear into and find out the reason your windsheild wipers don't work is cause the rear turn-signal wire shorted out and the wipers draw power from there. Then you pull the harness and find that there are no less the 5 set's of main +12, 13 redundent grounds, and a partridge in a fucking pear tree. So it's time to weed out all the redundancies, but now you gotta figure out which wires stay, and which wires go with the OBD-.001 bass-ackwards electric diagnostic system. After you finally get the car to start under it's own power you'll say, that only took a month, let's re-do the brakes. Then you realize that the rear bleeder's are 5/16 and the fronts are 7mm, so you try to make them the same size, cause you figure it makes sense, and by the time you finally get them both 7mm you realize that you don't really want drum brakes to begin with and are going to swap over to disc. After you've spent a month screwing with the brakes you're coming up on winter and figure you better get the heater working properly, cause in the summer time you plugged the fuckers cause the control cables rusted and snapped about 5 owners ago and it constantly blows hot. Then you realize that you're much more profficient with a heater core then this crazy German heat exchange crap, that and you don't feel like changing the heater filter anyways, so you're gonna make it run a water heater. Now you find yourself a month and a half into winter, ass on the concrete, wrapping brass tubing around the header so you have a way to heat water to pump up front to a heater core you bought at AutoZone for a steal at $15 but when you finally run the pump and hoses you find out it's about 1.5in to big to fit in the dash, so...
like I said, fuck those lousy krauts!

Dear Blair,
I have found the answer to your RWD, fast turbo car desires. Let me introduce you to your new love affair, cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-M-Series-BMW-ALPINA-B10-Bi-Turbo_W0QQitemZ4615124702QQcategoryZ6131QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem. Oh yeah. I'd let you sell your Talon for this one. Were it here in the States, I'd consider selling a nut for this lovely lady.
Your friend down here in the desert,
Cactusfucker.
PS - It's already in Canada. What are you waiting for?

WOW. that is a clean ass beemer... i wonder what the market value price is on a left nut these days?

3848, RE: This is what I'm thinking of doing. Posted by Keith2172, Feb-22-06 03:37 AM
That looks like something that would be heavily abused by a high schooler who had no idea what it was, very pretty though. Got any idea what kinda horsepower and torque figures it's pushing?

3850, RE: This is what I'm thinking of doing. Posted by Blizare, Feb-22-06 04:28 AM
Fawk Brian, I would love that beemer. Shit. Sexiest straight 6 sound ever Besides the wail of two turbos :P
Back to this post. Now I'm probably not going to do it :P I went and looked at another primo canidate and the chick wouldn't sell the car for less than 2K. Maybe it's a sign though, I mean, to spend more money on the talon and buy a house instead of dumping a buch into something else. :shrug I don't know.
