Driving home from a friends house tonight, someone thought it would be a good idea to run a red light.

It just so happened that I was driving down the expressway at the same time, about 55 mph. He clipped my rear drivers side wheel and quarter panel and I spun out ending up off the side of the road. I'm pretty lucky I caught it and started to swerve a bit, it could have been much worse and I could have been hurt pretty good. If it was a square on T-bone I can't even imagine.

1 week before the shootout too. go figure. I guess I'll be driving the 2g this weekend.

This really puts a damper on my mood, and my back is killing me.

The dude backed up and left the scene before I could even get out of the car. My back will be fine, I can't afford to go to the doctor anyway. This was in the lancer, I don't drive the 1g but in the winter.

Ouch man sorry to hear about you and the Evo. Did anybody at least get the guys plates or anything. That's pretty fucked up that he pulled the hit and run. Probably didn't have insurance or something

it's really not that bad. the majority of the impact was on the rear wheel. shouldn't be too bad to fix.

You obviously haven't priced Evo suspension bits.... Sucks about the car, and that's some good advice about seeing a Dr.

I haven't priced any stock replacement parts no. I did have a couple stock wheels replaced though (I may have made a post about it in here somewhere). Pretty excessive. Either way it's just a 500 dollar deductible.

But my back is fine.

By the way...your car insurance will cover any medical bills. My father was hurt while working on a truck that didn't even have insurance. Long story short his car insurance covered about 500K of his medical care.

Car is at the shop now. I asked how backed up they were and they said not at all. If they can get to it right away maybe it can be fixed by the weekend?

i cant stress enough to go to aen ER and have yourself checked out. above is right, that most insurance companies will cover the medical bills, especially from a hit and run.

also, just making sure you did infact file a police report?
they may not get him for the drunk driving aspect but they can get him for leaving the scene of an accident. plus depending on the repair bill and your medical bills, it might bump up the severity of the crime as well.
plus the cops can keep an eye out for the car as well as the reapir shops around you and hopefully nail him.

did they have intersection cameras where the accident was?

Of course I filed a police report. The guy will get away with it though. No cameras at the intersection, it was dark out and I didn't get his plate or make of the car. It took the cops almost 40 minutes to get to the scene. I think it was a bonneville but whatever. There was a piece of the cars bumper on my passenger seat somehow. I gave it to the cop and said here is some evidence, now can you tell me what kind of car was it? lol.

My back is fine, i'm going to the gym right now actually heh. I appreciate all of the concern here though. :thumbsup

Yea I went to the shop today. Bumper is fixed up. It's going to be a week before an SE lancer wheel comes in. They said Monday, so i'm SOL. I've come to grips with it.

I'll give you a call tonight Matt. I'm pretty disappointed!

A couple parts are being replaced, and you're right the lancer suspension parts are not cheap! I think the bill is going to be around 2200 bucks lol.

Hypothetical question. If your car could have still driven as normal...would you have chased his ass down in the EVO? Sorry, I just like to imagine action packed stories.

I did drive it home. Wasn't really comfortable chasing him down though, especially not really knowing what was damaged. I just waited for the cops. The car is back and just like normal though, so, i'm happy.
