I was just thinking about this and wondering how things had turned out for you. I hope things work out and I hope your child is born healthy and wish you both luck in raising em. I've had a bad few days but no matter what happens to you in life there is someone somewhere who has it worse off and we should all appreciate every moment we live.

Wow, I hope you get to feeling better, brother.

MS is not an easy thing to live with by any means.

Edit: I also opt for the 6 month follow-ups.

Wow Myke, it's like a mixed congrats on the baby, and sorry to hear about the final diagnosis. Though I've never met you personally I think about you everytime I log on to this board. You were the original old school 2gnt postwhore.

I think it's great you found a local clinical trial that will pay for meds. I still believe we will cure this disease in a number of years. wish you the best on the test regimen

Yeah, I feel secure in the fact that this is the best place in the world for treatment of MS, right here in downtown medical district of houston. There are burn victims flown in from all over the country and world to Ben Taub burn center here. We have the best medical care right here. I feel that the extra studys will have extra care and research on me personally than a regular MS patient would have with a HMO plan for insurance.

For now I'm just keepin on keepin on, and trying to promote my business idea so I can get my own paycheck and work for myself. At that point I can get my own dental and medical plans for my wife and I.

In my experience, I found that it is a powerful relief to know what the actual cause of your illness is. It is easier to fight an enemy when you know it's name...


Cheers to a fellow guinea pig! I participated in a trial at UCLA, and it gave me access to medication that is quite benficial to me. Glad that you are doing better from yours.

Glad to hear they finally pin-pointed what the problem is, even though it's not the the greatest outcome, at least they now know whats wrong.

Congrats on the new baby too. My first is now 3 months old, and I'm having the time of my life with her.

Hope everything goes well for you Mike, but I know it will. You seem like a really tough guy and this is just a curve ball that God has thrown at you in life and your just going to have to swing at it and knock it outta the park.

glad to hear you know what's wrong, not glad to hear its MS, glad to hear you're going to have a baby, not glad to hear you are both unemployed, im really happy for you and really sorry at the same time. I wish you the best.

Mike, I apologize for your diagnosis and hope for the best on your treatment and your future new addition. I'd also like to add that Rochester, MN has a huge medical clinic that's world renowned called the Mayo Clinic. If you ever need a second opinion or you're not happy with how things are going down in Houston, give me a jingle and I'll talk to some family friends that are doctors there. Hope the best for you.
