34753, I need help!!!
Posted by eclipsed08, Jul-22-08 05:00 PM
Ok here's the story..

Today I blew my motor..I'm suspecting I seized it up. I was leaving my bank today and with all the rain we have been getting I didn't notice the huge pot hole. Yeah it was covered in rain and just looked like a puddle. Well I drove right into it and didn't think nothing about it cause everything seemed fine..

Well I made it about a mile down the road when the motor just quit. I pulled over an tried to start back up and nothing. The car won't turn over, just makes a clicking sound from the started. Upon further inspection I noticed the oil pan has a HUGE dent in it. Well I work for mitsubishi and got it back to the shop by tow truck, threw it up on the lift. And confirmed that the motor is seized up bad. Looks like I lost oil pressure, and JUNK.

My question is this, I have the money to fix the motor...but how should I handle this?? I have been in contact with the bank and was told they will get in touch tomorrow...but it sounds like they don't want to fix this and are going to blow me off.

What should I do if they don't want to help me??

I need a new motor, new ball joints and a front bumper cover.

If the pothole is in the street, it's the city's responsibility, but they might only be liable up to a certain limit. Not uncommon to hear fellas talking about getting funds for a replacement wheel due to pothole damage.

A bank, on the other hand, might need to speak with an attorney.

file a police report and file it with your insurance. (if you have full coverage). This is actually pretty common.

come on Russ....step outside the box...lol

You could build a new motor with forged internals. Parts should be about 1500 and machine work 500.00. save 800.00 for somethign else you have wanted.

If your not turbo, buy a use good motor for 500.00. 2300 you can build a base turbo kit.

2800.00 you could sell your car and buy a GSX if you wanted too.

I have a spare 97-99 front bumper I can send it you for a few bills. It has curb rash from my driveway easy fix by repainting it.

shoot me your info. I take money order or paypal.

I'm from Ohio my zip is 44705 I'm going to use Fedex but not sure about the cost.

Does Fedex wrap and box up items like bumpers.
