MOD 08 (Mitsubishi Owners Day)
Saturday, July 19th
10am-3PM
MMNA Headquarters
6400 Katella Ave.
Cypress, CA 90630

I don't know if the info has already been posted, but supposedly a different group is managing it this time (Marketing instead of Design, or something), and I'm way out of the loop these days...

Although I think that after last year's model distribution, they should just start calling it EOD for "Evo Owners Day"! :shrug

Hmm, not too much in the way of 2GNT presence this year.

- I hung out with ez, but we only saw one 420A engine bay on display throughout.

- They actually changed the layout by having all the Evo's around a soft, creamy Starion/1G/2G/3G/4G/3K filling.

- We chatted with a 3G guy who was demonstrating his "HHO" / Brown's Gas / bubbling-mason-jar-and-sillycone-tubing setup. Says he gets 2-4mpg increase out of it. He was definitely enthusiastic about it, and I applaud that, but remain unconvinced.

- The 3K/Stealth guys sure have some interesting ideas on what constitutes 'styling enhancements' to their cars. Lambo-doors are common, but it their affectation for shiny bits is most perplexing. This one takes the cake:

Aside from that, the 550 Maranello-style hood scoops do look awesome on that car.

- I didn't see it, but a 3K guy toasted his motor on the dyno.

- The unexpected airshow was pretty cool. Must have been at least 6 F/A-18s fly over head low and dirty on approach to AFRC Los Alamitos.

- Free lunch courtesy of MMNA was appreciated. Just wish it didn't have to be the questionable quality of Carl's JR meat.

All and all it was a good event.

you too eh? I even made a post elsewhere about remembering to bring sunblock, but didn't bother to put any on myself. It was all cloudy and cool most of the day, but I guess the last bit when it started clearing up was enough...

Hey, whats was Angie's friends name again? I'm sure she appreciated your playing doctor with her...
