3409, VW Corrado

I just stumbled onto this pic of a VW Corrado and I don't know what it is, but i've always liked to look of the Corrado's even though they are boxy. I looked up some info on them and it seems that a supercharged model was made. I don't see too many of them on the road anymore but I was just wondering if any of you had any other info on these rare cars or if you've seen one all modded out. I'm thinking about searching for one to work on as a project car.

Eh, I think they're alright for being old cars. I know someone who has a white one that's modded and looks pretty nice... however, I hate the fucking kid because he used to hit on my girlfriend at parties when I wasn't there.
My post was not important at all. :shrug

It's your fault. If she's your girlfriend she shouldn't be going to parties without you. :+ Lay down the lay man!

Thanks for the link. It took me a while to find the Corrado section but once I got there it reminded me of our forum. Most of the posts where people asking questions on how to fix stuff. Sounds like Corrados have a lot of problems. Maybe I should look for another project car. :shrug

They made the G60 and the VR6 Corrado. The G60 was supercharged w/ aroudn 160HP and the VR6 is the same motor as the VR6 they used in that same generation GTi VR6. 2.8L w/ like 190HP. Corrado's were pretty light to. They also made the Scirocco which was lighter but longer. Friend has one w/ the G60 motor and a smaller pulley. Pretty quick little car for what it is. VR6's have more potential. Friend had a GTi VR6 supercharged that was very fast and his friend had a turbo one. Traction is obviously the only issue. Seen stroker kits for them that bump it froma 2.8L to a 3.2L so all motor sounds like an option. I really like the way VR6's sound in stock form and w/ exhaust. Hope that helped some.

A friend of mine in high school had one. I think they're kinda nice. Another buddy had the supercharged one. It was pretty quick, and it handled pretty well.

Personally, I don't know that I'd want one as a project, due to parts costs, but if you're trying to be unique, it's not a bad option.

**EDIT**
Oh, and as far as fixing and breaking. Anything that's modded, high mileage, or driven hard is going to break. If yours hasen't yet, give it time.

Because people always go onto internet forums to post "Hey my car is running great, no problems here."

If your looking for a cool project take an old VW GTI and put a 1.8T or a VR6 24v in it. That damn thing would haul ass. Add a supercharger to the VR6 and you have one bad ass car.
