yep, a buddy in indy broke his gas pedal as well. dealership took care of it for him and towed it and everything.

still though. i bet there comes a TSB about it and it gets changed on later revisions.

Yeah, if gas pedals are snapping off they'll need to issue a TSB.
Next year those probably won't be plastic anymore, or will be thicker.

I mean this is supposed to be their "flagship" car.. and they skimp out and put fucking composite PLASTIC bullshit on one of the most used and stressed parts inside of the car.

of coarse, thats what manufacturer's do now. they spend more money in thick interior panels then they do for more common things, such as a TB pedal. they spend a lot of money where they do not need to and not enough where they should.

they need to fire their designers and replace them with a group of 20 somthing age tuners.
have them design a car that the people like and beat the crap out of every day, then bring the car back to the factory and have a rant session.
that way things like plastic peddels would come up in the beat down.

hell just make retool for the 2GB-GSX and make it with modern materials and the new evo engine, but take everything that eclipse tuners have learned in the past years and actually do somthing with it!

Well the good news is their door handles are totally not plastic.

maybe it happened because it's an automatic. I'm mean, surely that would never happen a manual transmissioned car:P

The GSR X's are 5 speeds. Only the gas pedal is plastic, which I might add isn't all that uncommon these days with more and more cars going to e-throttles.

I let out a chuckle when I saw this posted originally. I went outside to see if the TB peddle on my 08 F-150 was plastic and found out that it wasn't. The brake pedal is plastic!!!!

Isn't that very very dangerous?

That concerns me. I don't mind a plastic throttle pedal for an e-throttle car but a plastic brake pedal is just...off...

You know that antitheft device that goes on the brake pedal? In their advertisements they would always say that the brakes pedal was the best place for an antitheft device because *by law* this had to be one of the strongest places on the car, made of steel, so it could not be cut.

But mitsu has a plastic brake? I'd rather have a plastic accelerator pedal like Mike's pics than a brake that can break

Thank you Ford for proving how horrible "American Quality" really is.. How much do you think they will get sued for the first time that breaks and someones entire family dies? I can't tell which is worse, the plastic break pedal or when Ford continued to put on Firestone tires knowing they could blow out..
