32813, Hello All! Its been awhile!

Hey guys, I have been really busy over the last few months and haven't been on in awhile. I have some news, both good and bad. The good news is I am finally a homeowner! We bought our very first house this month. We are very exicited but at the same time kinda bummed cause of the monthly payment lol. I guess you have to take the good with the bad! I can actually say I can do whatever I want to with my house and no one can tell me otherwise! (Except the wife of course) Anyways, on with the bad news. I sold the eclipse! There is a bright side to this though, it will stay in my family. When I moved to Georgia in 2005 my sister borrowed the car because she didn't have a car to get around so I loaned her the eclipse to drive until I could figure out a way to get it to georgia. Well We wound up moving back to florida in 2007 and the car had went to hell and back. It wouldnt start, the radiator was shot, the transmission wouldn't go into any gears except reverse and 3rd, and the car had sat for so long the interior had issues and everything else. I was going to go and get the car but since I didn't have the time or money to put into it, it just sat and sat and sat did I mention it just sat? Well about 2 months ago, my brother in law asked me what I had planned to do with the car. I told him that once I won the lottery I was going to completely redo the car and turn it into a showcar. Now we all know I am not going to win the lottery so he said ok for real what are you going to do with the car. I told him that I wanted to keep the car and get it fixed and I would start to drive it again. He kept on bugging me about the car and finally I gave in. They have bought the car and has already replaced the interior, the door panels, the radiator, and got the transmission to where it will now go into 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th, plus reverse but the tranny will need to be either rebuilt or a new one bought for it due to it grinding due to the syncros (SP?) going out in it. I told them that I wanted to keep the car in the family and they could do whatever they wanted to do with it. They are going to put in the back window "TJsEclipse" in honor of me so everyone who knew my car would know that it is still on the road. I miss everyone here and wish I had more time to get on and stuff. My life has been very busy and I hardly have time anymore to get on and play around with the internet. I still check my yahoo mail account from time to time but that is about all I have time for. I do get on myspace but only when I have a comment or new friend request. My email should be on the bottom here in my sig. I hope all of you are doing well and I will try to get back on from time to time to see what all everyone is up to. I will post some pics of the car once it is back up and on the road. They are going to fix the paint and probobaly get a new tranny with there rebate check that everyone is getting this year. I can't wait and I told them I will have to drive it once it is back on the road. I hope all is well with everyone!

Good to hear from you TJ. Bittersweet news about the Eclipse, for sure, but good that it's staying in the family. If mine would pass emissions, I'd sell it to my folks!

Congrats on the house and never forget that you're always welcome here. Post up any time, okay? :thumbsup

well, I am not getting rid of the eclipse after all! My truck has a rod knocking and when I talked to my sister, she said come and get the car since she knows I am going to need something to drive! The tranny on the clipse still needs a little work, but I will still have 1, 3, 5, and R. I will take it out and rebuild it or find a replacement out of the junkyard. My wife says that I have to repaint the car tho to one solid color, I can get a cheap paint job until I can afford to do what I want. I am kinda waiting on these so called "rebate" checks to come in so I can take the money and fix the car. The truck needs a new motor and the shop I took it to wants almost 4k to fix it. The truck isnt worth that so I am going to just trade the truck for my car. Superman will come back to life soon!!!!!

i think it is way out of sync, i mean it is the original tranny that I have put though hell lol. I know when I had it, 2nd gear went out and the speedo quit working cause the little gear that turns it broke off inside the tranny. I will see what I can do, but I am thinking that a rebuild might be in order. I will let you know. Its kinda good to be back

Just replace the retaining clip in the shifter cables lol. 2 dollars and your good to go.

edit: although that wouldn't explain why you have reverse

I have played with the cables and that is how I got first gear back. I have replaced them and still no dice. Not too sure what is going on with it. I will be picking it up here soon.

I offically have the car in my driveway!!!!! There is some work to be done, it def needs a new tranny, and a few other parts, a paint job and a new valve cover gasket. it will be a good project for me and hopefully i will get a promotion to do it all!
