Gay jokes aside, if you've got time, we'll have to grab a beer. I'll see if I can't get a couple fellas together. We'll come to your side of town if it's easier.

He'll be jumping out of a plane. It would be easier for him to come to you.

The skydive place is very cool Terry. I went there a couple years ago. I'll be out of town that whole weekend, so I'll miss you this time.

**Make sure you are careful with the dog shit, if you miss Brian's place you might hit mine**

Yeah i bet it is Dan. We are going to spend some time in the Tunnel on Friday. Saturday and Sunday we will be jumping most of the day. The truely fun part of this trip is going to be getting on a plane with a parachute thrown over each of our shoulders.

Edit, they are a little bit expensive. 23.50 each jump. Chicago skydive has out tickets for 20.00....oh well, not much choice right now.

so they go in reverse order? how do u get to the next license, and what "features" does it entail?

No they dont go in reverse. I have earned the next level license thats all.

Class A = beginner license. You can skydive alone or in groups anywhere in the US or any country that will honor the US license. Highest you can jump is 15,000' and you must deploy by 3000'. There are other Regulations but those cover what your going to deal with mostly. currency jumping is good for 60 days

Class B = Requirements: A-License, 50 jumps, Water training, Manuever performed in 18 secs or less (specific manuever outlined in USPA manual).
Class B allows me to jump from 20,000 feet, night jumps, and must deploy from 2500'. Currency jumping is good for 90 days. Can apply for a coaching license.

Class C = lot of other stuff that i dont remember or havent looked into yet. must have 200 jumps. Must have 60 minutes of accumulated freefall time. Must deploy by 1800', currency training is 6 months.

Class D = lot of other stuff that i dont remember or havent looked into yet. Must have 2 night jumps on solo and one as a group manuever. Must have 500 jumps and 3 hours of accumulated freefall. Must deploy by 1800', currency training is 6 months. Can apply for Tandem Master license.

Currency jumping is a stipulation that details you must jump in a set number of days or go through a recurrency training. This prevents jumpers from leaving the sport and just jumping right into it sort to speak and getting hurt.

To advance from level to level, you must have the requirements met and pass the written exam for each level. I just passed my class B this past monday. I am really looking forward to jumping at night!

There is a lot more Aaron, if you want I can send you my 2007 USPA Skydivers Information Manual to read through. Some very interesting info and it explains why jumps will not do somethings when you go tandem. Its the 2007 copy and is superceded by the 08 edition so if you want it just send me you addy at school. Since you want to do this too, its a good read. Any by the way, you MUST have 25 jumps to get your A-License. Thats USPA regulation. Its only 8 jumps to be able to jump solo and you must jump with an instructor or no one. You dont earn the A-License till you have 25 jumps.

no I mean like A license isn't the top license. You start with A then work down the alphabet to a designated letter. Unlike grades that A is the top and below that is lesser.. thats what I mean.

Ya it's still something I'm interested in doing sometime here soon. I really would love to do it over the summer. I wish they had a class for it here, it's an easy way to do something for cheap and get a credit for doing it. Sometime you might have to make it down here to do some rock climbing.

I would love too. South Bend has a drop zone but they only have cesna's and the climb to 10k feet takes almost 30 mins. I told you a guy i jump with lives out there and he comes out here on the weekends to jump. Over the summer I will make it a point to jump by you to see the DZ.

The scenery down here in southern Indiana is awesome compared to up north. Huge forests and actually pretty hilly. Not to far south is the Daniel Boone National Forest, in that is Red River Gorge, where we will be doing the rock climbing this spring. If there are any nice DZ's down here let me know..
