30426, New Job!! Posted by Nightfall, Jan-02-08 07:17 AM
Well, this will be the last post I will ever make sitting at this desk. I finally get to start my new job Monday! I've been doing office machine repair for about 5 years now and I'm just plain burnt out. Now I'll be doing mechanic work, rebuilding junkers, pulling parts from cars and whatnot at this new place my dad's work is opening up, he's going to run it too, I'm so excited! I've known about this for a couple months and have been working there on Saturday's to make some extra cash and get a feel for the place. I really really like what I'm going to be doing now, not to mention with my electronics background, I'll be in charge of setting up and maintaining their computers and a full surveillance/security system. My car is very happy as well, she's really going to love the new paychecks, 2008 has started off GREAT for me!
Now it's time to go in here and break the good news to my boss }(

Congrats broham. Just went to meet with some people for a year long internship with the city, which would mean I have to quit my current job. It's a lil higher pay, but more work... I work at a school computerlab/library/multimedia.

with the job that he is getting now, i dont think you would have the same routine, from what i understand he will be rebuilding all sorts of cars with all sorts of problems and more. There would be so much varity in that job instead of say being a zamboni driver at an arena (thats what i do now) it would take for ever to get boring.
anyways, congrats on the job, it should be a blast.

I just had my yearly review and got a 4% raise this year. I'm pretty stoked. The average at this place is like 2.25% so I was surprised when they told me. :thumbsup

damn, I take for granted my field I guess. I'm expecting my first raise to be in the 15% range and from what I can tell anything less than 10 is laughed at.
