Backed the Evo into a retaining wall 2 weeks ago.
Cracked the tailight ($318)
dented up the rear 1/4 ($589)
scratched the bumper ($763)
gouged the rim ($630)

Assessed at $4004.

So I talked to the body shop about me getting some of the parts myself to help lessen my $500 deductible.
I got a JDM bumper, a set of Evo VIII tails and threw my Evo VIII rims with the snow tires on.
I ended up spending a grand total of $700 for replacing $1789 worth of parts.
I picked up my car today from the shop and he gave me a check for $1289 after he subtracted the deductible.
After I pay the $700 back to the credit card company, I get $589 in my pocket. ;)

man i hit a lip in the road in some construction at a pretty good clip and wrecked 2 rims. you don't even want to know what they cost...

the finished product though looks awesome, and you came out ahead lol!

About the same amount of damage on my girlfriend's GS after she side swiped the garage wall. Something about talking on the phone and sun in her eyes. :shrug

Still, messing up your evo is equally as bad but not nearly as scary.
