28940, What are you guys' thoughts on dating older women? Posted by edxmon, Nov-16-07 07:28 AM
I'll be straight to the point, its me in this situation. I met her on campus (College) and she is awesome, I would not have guessed, if my life depended on it, that she is older than me. I'm not talking about 1-2 years older (for respect I wont say the exact age)I am 20 and the difference is less than half my age (sorry for the unintended math problem. She is as awesome as she looks, so its not like people are going to see a young man with a gray haired woman. I guess the difference is more social or in "life experience". She has held a full time job(finance field), and decided to get the piece of paper to back up her On-the-job education, and maybe advance a bit. She has a brand new car (current model year, payed off), and pretty much handles her own stuff financially and in all other ways. No she's never been married, no kids.
I see no problem, and in reality I'm not really asking for advice, rather opinions, maybe there are somethings I have not considered.
I would appreciate any comments to stay respectful to me, but specially her. Thanks in advance peeps :thumbsup
EDIT: Just to put things into perspective a tad more, when I worked at GameCrazy and was 18 (game store) I constantly was told I looked 25-26 ATLEAST. I dressed conservatively, and on top of all that I think that women age MUCH better than men.

Hey man, if it works for you both, go for it. I think that if she's as mature as you say you can look forward to far fewer headaches than with someone your own age. Best of luck.

That is DEFINITELY a selling point for me, the last girl I went out with was such a <|insert appropriate word here|>. She would just completely transform on me and shit, she made no sense to me. And there is a general consensus that women are totally retarded until a certain age... I wish I could find that thread I'm thinking about.
I guess that's just a plus :7
Ah! Found it here it is General Consensus of Female Retardedness

Nothing wrong with older women.

I don't think difference is a big issue, I think age of the youngest is where it comes into play. If you were 18 and she was 28+, then your agendas are completely different.
My wife's 8 years older than I am (28 & 36). We had been friends for several years (3-4) before we started dating (there was a LONG post about this back in 2004). At the time, I was 24, graduated college, lived on my own, chased my dreams, did whatever I wanted. If I had been any younger, I don't think it would have worked because I had dreams of doing things that I probably wouldn't have been able to do being in a serious, committed relationship. I think I did all of my maturing from 21 to 24 (finished school, real job, responsibilities, etc) and was in a completely different mental stage than I was at 20.
Now, looking back, I wouldn't have changed anything.
Go for it, what's the worst that could happen? She cuts your penis off and throws it out the window of a moving vehicle? Probably not.
Try it out, date, take your time and see how it goes. As I stated earlier, my wife and I were friends for probably 4 years before we started flirting/dating, then together for 3 more before we got married.
I've always been one to chase my dreams and typically make them come true for myself, and this was no different. It was really hard to convince her because she felt she was taking something away from me because of our age difference. She graduated when I was in 3rd grade :)
Do it and let us know how it goes.

i like to sleep with them :) kidding, but i have been with a few older women (3-7 year difference). as for dating, all depends on their personality. personality will depend on how mature/immature they are. go for it and see where it goes.

I don't mean to be an asshole to my 2gnt brothers here, but I'm not going to do that. It would just end up turning into a flame war of "who thinks she is attractive, and who thinks she's ugly". She is more than great looking to me, and thats all that matters.

When I was 18, I dated a 21 year old fine ass woman for about 2 years. I probably woulda been married to her today if she hadn't cheated on me!

Older women are the best. I banged a woman who was 38 while I was 21, and it was pretty much for bragging rights on both our parts. It last a few months, just casual sex, then we parted ways.

if you find that relationships with girls equal to you or younger drive you up the wall because they tend to go postal on you then i think an older woman is just what you need. it shows that you are probably thinking and acting more mature then you age portrays. usually older women are more stable, and are WAY more fun in the sack as they tend to know what they want and arent shy about telling you. if this tilts towards long term, expect your circle of friends to change too.
ive always enjoyed dating and sleeping with women older then me (6-10 years with the one lone 44yr old MILF thrown in }( ) like above said its just like any other relationship, whats the worst that can happen?

Wait a second. She's in her 30's, good job, never been married, no kids, and drives around in a newly paid off car? Somethings wrong with her. She probably was a dude or has something you don't wanna catch.

No matter how perfect she may seem, someone's already tired of putting up with her shit ;)

hahahaha isn't that the truth. For every one fine ass girl you see out there, there is always one guy that is tired of her shit.
I don't see any problems with dating an older opposite, as long as both of you are mature enough to handle the responsibilities of the relationship.
Pictures would be nice...

I've dated lots of women substantially younger than me.
Then, I met my wife. She's 7 years older than me. We're on our 3rd year of marriage now. We just had our first child this year. I haven't looked back since.
With that said, I've determined that women are crazy until they hit past 30. Something in their brains, they're not developed fully in the head yet or what, I don't know. Younger women are just plain freakin' crazy and immature.
Yup.

younger women are great for the weekend but when you have to get up and drop them off at school its's just not worth it! :P
grab an older woman and your world will change and you wont look back

Who really really fucking cares. If she likes you then go for it. We think you look like an underage homo and really dont care who thinks what at some pimple infested gaming store.
You act like she is old......she is in the range of 25-35. big fucking deal. Date a 40-50 year old and make a big deal of that.
Just fucking date her and yes we want pictures or your outta here.

Aggressiveness...you misunderstood.
If your going to care what we think then you need to grow some balls. Picture sucks but looks liek a pretty girl. She has a head on her shoulders and thats whats important.
Locking this thread isnt quite what I had in mind.......you can join your boy's focus forum.

edxmonx asks -"What are you guys' thoughts on dating older women?"
It's unnatural. What sucks is the mainstream media (which is made for females only) is portraying this as 'in fashion' or whatever, so women are actually thinking that they stand a chance. Nothing worse than getting the 'eye' from a 40 something at a bar. :* :nono :wtf :nuts :puke

Good thing: they know what they want (most of the time) so no bullshit with them. they already know themselves and have their life straight. Bad: bilogical clock may be ticking.. if this is a "relationship" type of thing.. make sure you know what you want and find out what she wants... Aside from that no problems, enjoy!

29058, RE: What are you guys' thoughts on dating older women? Posted by DR1665, Nov-19-07 10:35 AM
Go for it, man. Just keep in mind that part about the biological clock and the circle of friends. If it gets serious, is she going to be cool with you pursuing your own education? Is she going to want to get preggo pretty quick? Is she going to be cool hanging out with your friends too?
All worth thinking about, but if you just met, it's too much to think about. Be friends with her first. The rest will follow.

God bless DR. I couldn't let this thread die without your input. :thumbsup Yea we kinda DID just meet (couple weeks back), and to clear things up, it was me who approached her, not the other way around. I saw that she definitely gave me the "Go" so I just wanted to get my decision straight, before too long, that way no one gets hurt/let down.
You are absolutely right about being friends first, and I was the one holding back a little, and she is the one doing the "touchy feely" stuff this time, and its not like a I don't enjoy it }( So I guess until I officially ask her, we are just friends, and she's giving me special attention. Thus, I believe no harm there.
