OK guys I have a question, here's the deal...

I have a 1997 Eclipse GS that has been hit many times...I actually had to cut the front end off and re weld a new one in. I have a bunch of mods done to the motor and the body as well as the interior.


I have been looking to sell it for a long time now, and today I got a deal that seems good but I'm looking for some advice and outlook from my 2gnt team.

Here's the deal, this kid came to my house today and fell in love with my car and wants to trade his car for mine outright. And he's going to let me keep my racing seats.

His car is this one here is the like to the craigslist ad he's running.

His car is worth anywhere from 7k to 9k...it has 100k mile on the car and in MINT condition. He has very little mods done, but the good thing is the car has NEVER BEEN HIT.

I know this sounds weird here trading a 97 eclipse for a 2001 celica (LOL) still sounds weird. But the money value is so much different.

Can you guys help me out here, what would you do?

So at the time I looked back 13 people looked at this and no one car help me out here...

I know it sounds horrible thinking about selling my 2gnt for a celica, but think what I could do to a 2gnt if I sell it for 7-9grand.

I hear Celicas have a few problems with them. And they are slow. Keep the 2GNT!!

I for one will always have a eclipse. You could buy a new uncrashed/unwelded eclipse for cheap. then transfer your parts over. A dude on the island sold a gst for 2500 a 98 with a new paint job and a rebuilt motor less than 1k on the motor. The only toyota I would drive is a supra or a alltrac celica

You have four choices (in no particular order);


1.Take the trade sell the toyota (since it's worth so much) and buy a straight, clean 2gnt.

2. Find a straight clean 2gnt and swap your parts

3. Stand pat; no deal

4. Take the trade and have a slow, crappy Toyota on your hands. Be beaten by everything on the road. Lose your girl. Become the village idiot. People will point and laugh. Dog will run away. Get depressed. Re-assess your life and take a shotgun and blow your brains out.

Again, no particular order.......

My plan was to get rid of my car since it's been hit a few times and is worth shit...and grab this celica and sell it.

Then I can by a cheap non hit 2gnt and turbo the fuck out of it...

Well it was a funny day when I was going to trade the one thing that makes me happy...my 2gnt.


The kid who I was supposed to trade with brought his dad to my house the day of the trade and his dad stopped him.

Well now I think about it and karma is with me...he crashed his celica two days ago one day after the trade was supposed to be made..

DAMN that could have been my car...the car I have put so much time and effort into making my own.

I have seen on 2gnt that some of you sold your car to 17yr olds before. Looks like mine would have been the crash victim.

Your car could have been hit agian too bad you lost out on that easy money.

Yup, too many stories about people selling a 2g in mint condition and having it destroyed two days later. Stuff always seems to happen for a reason, specially stuff that makes you regret it at that moment, but then realize it was for your own good.
