As most of you know, the Talon is sold. The guy that bought it came to me the today and mentioned that a guy he knows that builds engines has a built Chevy 350 (which I'm looking for).

13.0:1 Compression
Balanced and Blueprinted
324 or 327 heads (can't remember the number), with valve jobs, all upgraded.
No manifold (I have one)
No Carb (I'd need to upgrade possibly, I have an Edelbrock 600).
Built for the strip.
$2500.

Here is the thing, has never been fired and was built 15 years ago.

I told the guy who bought my car to have the guy pull the heads off and see what it looks like inside and take pictures.

Hmm so whats the question again? :shrug

For $2500 you can buy a 350 and build it yourself. I wouldn't want to touch anything that was built 15 years ago. Technology has made a big difference in manufacturing parts for the 350. Today's parts are far superior to whatever is in that motor.

Any one can build a bowtie motor. They are a dime-a-dozen these days. I wouldn't buy that.

There is a 350 crate motor for you for $2500. Personally I would get an LS series. 350s are heavy cast iron blocks with cast iron heads. LS = aluminum goodness.

I would like to have one of the LS series engines. I would not mind if it were fuel injected with a modern computer system either.

I was simply wondering if buying that engine, assuming it was in great shape was worth it.

I'll hunt some more.
