25289, What do you guys cook on the grille? Posted by eclipse982nrRST, Jun-20-07 02:58 PM
I am obsessed with grilling on our grille. We just bought a badass SS grille this year like 3 months ago and I use it almost every day but I am running out of this to cook, lol. I cook the norm like burgers, italian sausage, steaks, bbq chicken, pork, potatoes/carrots/cucumber, corn etc etc etc. I was just looking to see if any of you guys cook on the grille or if your buddies/parents/relatives cook some good shit on there. I am just looking for some new things to try or even a website if you know of one of different things to cook on the grille's. Let me know if you guys have something sweet you like. Thanks. This should be interesting :)

Everything from cabobs to beer brats. Going to throw a little party at the house and grill up some ribs and some swiss/mushroom angus burgers. We'll probably grill up some beer brats too because they're like crack. You can't stop at one no matter how stuffed you are!

I like to grill also, but I mostly just grill some fat steaks and hot dogs. Sometimes fish and shrimp in some aluminum foil with butter, lemmon pepper, etc.
I'm plain I know haha.
Has anyone tried that Jack Daniel's marinade where you throw your meat in it for like 30 min in the fridge? I've been meaning to try that out.

I do some pretty serious grilling at work.
I have cooked steak, burger, dogs, chicken halves with our own secret basting sauce that is dank, beef briskit(SP?), plenty of veggies, pork shoulders, pork butts, you name it.
I love cooking dead animals!
Go to hell PETA!

Along with what you already listed I've been really into grilled Kabobs this past month or so. Chicken, pineapple, mushrooms, green peppers, etc, even steak sometimes, all marinated in Italian dressing, lime juice, and a few other random things.

Swordfish on the grill is pretty good. Corn on the cob grilled in the husk. We did a HUGE striper last year on the grill. We took it off the grill, opened the aluminum foil and just grabbed forks and dug into it. I need a newer/bigger grill we've been cooking on it alot this year...

See a lot of stuff gets marinated in Italian dressing like someone said above, but I dont like Italian dressing.
And corn on the cob in the husk wrapped in aluminum foil is the shit. I do that ATLEAST 3 out of the 6 days I cook, lol.

Steak... Marinade in red wine pepper garlic, fresh rosemary.
Fish of any kind, white wine, salt pepper, and a little bit of lemon juice. I like to also throw in a little bit of paprika.
chicken I do not marinade, I like to use a rub garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper, and a little bit of sugar.
It doesn't need to be complicated to taste good.

YES. Do it. That shit is awesome. It'll make you want to smack the shit out of whoever came up with A1 marinade.
We cook all the usual stuff. Steaks, fish, chicken, pork chops. Italian dressing on chicken is pretty good. You have to let it sit in a pan and squirt the dressing all over it. Slap the chicken on the grill and put some more dressing on it. Flip it and put some more on. then drizzle more in the pan you put the chicken in when you take it off the grill. That's the only way to really get the flavor in it.

I get down with Tri-tip, wrapped or not. If you've got the time I prefer wrapped and slow cooked for at least 3 hours, you can't even cut it at that point, it just falls apart. Chicken's big cause the lady doesn't eat red meat :( and terriaki Salmon is a good go to as well.
A handy little crowd pleaser that has never failed to draw a crowd, Jalapeno Poppers. You slice them down the center long-ways, then scoop out all the seeds (a few can stay in for those who like 'em hot) and fill with cream cheese, anything else will melt out. After that you simply wrap with good quality bacon (get it from the butcher please) and shove a few toothpicks in to hold it together. Low heat and cook for 10-20mins, until the bacon is brown and crisp on the edges, then serve 'em up. You'll know you got it right when the jalapeno meat is tender.
Also, per a previous comment
Charcoal, for ease of use Wood, for flavor Gas, for teenage girl to commit suicide

Kabobs are great! and that jack daniels marinade tastes like a$s. I grill alot like your talking about and I'll list a few of my favorites that everyone always falls in love with.
1. Chicken - (cut large boneless chicken breasts into 3 lrg strips) a)lawrys chicken seasoning b)bacon c)toothpicks
season the chicken generously and wrap it really tight in the bacon from end to end to hold in all the juices(use the toothpicks to hold the bacon on). Grill on a medium heat/flame until the bacon is nice and crispy. (not burnt lol)
then eat them bad boys with the bacon on them (remove toothpicks of course)
2. Buffalo wings a) chicken wings and drummies b) buffalo sauce of your choice c) franks extra red hot d) aluminum foil
Take about 40" piece of aluminum foil and fold it in half to make it thicker and stronger. Put all your drummies or wings on one side of the foil leaving enough room to be able to fold the empty half back over the chicken. once you position the wings on one side (close together and bunched up as possible, w/o stacking them),then you fold over the foil and make a sealed pouch on 3 of the 4 sides. You then pour your sauces in the still opened end. (pour lots of sauce to where they are drowning in it.) Then you seal that end up and it should be a completely sealed aluminum pouch of chicken and sauce. Heat the grill up nice and hot and set your sealed pouch on the grill preferably in the flame. Poke 2 very small holes on the top with a tooth pick to keep it from burstin once it heats up and the sauce starts boiling the chicken. (If done correctly you should have a leak free pouch of hot wings just boiling in your sauce) Let it cook for a good 30 minutes, dont worry if you put alot of sauce like you where supposed to they wont burn they will just keep getting more and more flavorful and tender. Once there done enjoy they will be so tender the meat will probably fall off the bone when you pick them up.
3. Steak Kabobs
a)go to the meat market and ask for some steak tips or kabob meat b) onions, green pepers, and potatoes
soak the steak tips in COUNTRY BOBS steak seasoning for about 1 hr. Then assemble the kabobs and salt them. cook them bad boys to your preference, and eat up!

Teriyaki chicken:
Lawry's Teriyaki Marinate Boneless Chicken Breast
Let the chicken soak the marinate for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Then just grill it up. You have to try it, it's awesome.

I was going to say I only cook flying insects or the random errant Sparrow on my grille. As for cooking on the grill, I only wish I had a house where I could set up the trusty Weber. Gas is nice, but charcoal is where it's at.
JD's marinade is pretty good, but I still like the A1 Cracked Peper and Onion marinade. Fucking awesome. Stubbs is pretty good for steak, although chicken really does take better to a rub than a marinade.
We actually just tried this stuff called Oaxacan Smokey Sauce on some chicken tonight. Wow. I can't find anything on the internet about it, it's like a sweet BBQ sauce with a smokey flavor to it that evolves into a hot sauce (www.thevinetimes.com/kitchenbasics/spices/guajillo-pepper.htm). I've never had anything like it before. Wish I could find more info for you guys. It's totally diggable.

I just grilled up some steaks tonight using the JD Mesquite marinade. It was pretty good, worth the 3 bucks for it. I only left the meat in for about a half hour, but if I would have left it longer, I'm sure it would have been even better.

Buffalo steak and burgers. buffalo tastes WAY better than cow. There's a local buffalo ranch here and they're only like $.25 more per pound than beef at the grocery store. super tasty. a little worcestershire sauce on the burgers and some salt and pepper. fuck now I'm hungry.
oh yeah, beer brats too, can't beat those. but you gotta get the plain brats and boil them yourself, those premade ones suck ass.
damnit, now I'm even more hungry and it's only 9am.
