25043, Sopranos last episode...

Surprised there isn't already a thread about this anywhere...

(Although I've been known to miss things like this.)

We actually ordered HBO last night to check it out. LOL It was my first time ever watching an episode. Talk about hard to follow. These HBO series are getting more and more involved. :P

Even so, I didn't have to watch any other episodes to know a shitton of people out there were probably screaming at their TVs with *that* ending. Oh shit.

Anyone?

I heard it just faded to black and they rolled credits. No whacking.

ohhh, what a damn episode. We actually had a whole group of us watching after a decent afternoon pool party then some poker. There were arguments left and right after the episode, tempers flaring, and eventually someone saying the wrong thing...and well, a drunken brawl ensued hahaha.

+1 for thinkin the damn cable cut out...we were like did you pay the damn bill, then BAM: credits!!!

There was way too much built up nonsense going on for sure. I thought home girl was gonna get hit by a car crossin the street. Tony definitely had that guy at the bar lookin all suspicious, then those two black guys that walked in, then the other guy leaves to the bathroom, etc...wtf.

I guess if you think about it...everyone was expecting SOMETHING to happen. So if you weren't waiting for the climactic finish, then all those other things and people goin on would have gone unnoticed most likely.

The main question now is...who's gonna get the dvd, and who did they lose of that ending haha.

Alot of people think tony died- heres someone from the s2000 board explaining the theory...

"There won't be a movie. Both Gandolfini and Chase said so. Besides, Tony is dead.

Yeah, Tony got clipped.

That's my interpretation, and here's my reasoning:

Remeber Tony's conversation with Bobby in the boat? Bobby says (I'm pharaphrasing) "when they get you, probably it all suddenly goes to black". That's exactly what happened. No fade to black, just click! Lights out. Bobby also wonders if "you hear the one (shot) that gets you". Apparently not. They also referenced that conversation at the end of the previous chapter (Tony's flashback, when laying on bed at the safe house).

The person that gets Tony's attention at the end is the hitman. They make it seem like it's Meadow walking into the dinner but Tony's reaction wasn't that of a father greeting his daughter. It was like some stranger walked up to him casually enough to grab his attention but not to alarm him then BANG.

Most of the show is shot from Tony's perspective of the world. That was made clear on that last scene, how the camera kept switching to Tony's point of view. If the sudden black without an audible shot effect is accurate, then the ending is exactly what Tony would've experienced if the got clipped."

Everyone interprets stuff differently...

Off-topic...? LOL

I definitely agree on the multiple angles of interpretation. Is there a movie blah blah blah, alternate ending dvds blah blah blah, tony is alive, tony is dead etc etc.

EDIT: damn if meadow's parking wasn't annoying as all hell. I was just waiting for her to get nailed by a bus or something when crossing the street.

I'm allowed because I said so, LOL. I've only seen the sopranos once so I can't really comment on it. OT again, Entourage is a good show too, but I don't have HBO to watch it on :( so I haven't seen it in a few weeks

that was the last season tho . growing up in a mob neigborhood like mine (howard beach,ny)iv followed the show since season 1 . i think that finale was horrible .they could have done much better . i though it should have been like 3 hours long instead of an hour and then with the stupid cat shit ,meno parking and all the extra shit that had nothing to do with anything the show was about 30 minutes . iv seen more action in regular epsisodes . it seems like even tho its the last season they still left it unfinished like they will someday bring the show back .

I've had Don't Stop Beliving by Journey stuck in my head since the show on Sunday.
