24085, Your list
Posted by RSClipse9d7, May-10-07 09:49 AM
Over the past week with the skydiving and trips around the world posts I have been thinking a lot more about what it is I want to do in my time here on earth. I’m not talking about long term dreams about a career, but goals/adventures/activities/whatever you want to call them. I figured it would be kind of cool to see what others have done, want to do, or simply wouldn’t even think of trying. No idea should be ruled out as ridiculous. So post them up, I am looking for ideas.

My to do list (incomplete I’m sure)
-Skydiving (this summer)
-Learn to white water kayak (this summer)
-Compete in, not complete, a triathlon (this summer)
-An Ironman
-Animated into a Simpson’s character
-Complete the “Tough Guy” course (http://www.toughguy.co.uk/home.shtml)
-Hike the Appalachian Trail
-Ice climb
-Ski every major mountain in the US
-Become fluent in Spanish

I didn't say anything about traveling, good call.

Strong man competition? Are you currently training? That would be amazing.

Mine are not as deep or meaningful as you guys since I am very young, and havent started to experience anything near what you guys have, so these are going to sound stupid:

-Eat every major international food while IN the corresponding country (pizza in Italy, chinese in China, etc.)

-French kiss a hot french woman in France.

-Visit the most beautiful undiscovered spots in my country (Mexico), that arent swarmed with tourists.

-Skydive, or maybe even fly in a Glider.

-Visit Pompei, Athens, Rome, basically all those historical touristic hotspots.

-Visit all major Gothic Cathedrals.

-Visit Japan.

List goes on but the rest get personal, and really are dependant on alot of other things, while these I can definetly do as long as I live long enough.

*by the end of the next year compete in a full length marathon (Sub 4 hours)
*Before I'm 30 finish an Ironman
*Climb a huge mountain
*Backpack thru Europe
*munch on the biggest cock i have ever seen
*Visit India and Asia
*Travel to the Outback and rough it for a month
*skydive solo* and get certified

Just a few off the top of my head.. Some of them I'm currently training for. The marathon will be the easy one. I'm doing a 1/2 by the end of the summer, and a 10k in a few months. The 10k I'm looking at a sub 45 minute time. The 1/2 marathon I'm looking at sub 2 hours already, and I'm not done training. I think Europe might happen after I graduate school and have that grace period to pay student loans. Not sure on the rest.. maybe when I get some time off when I'm older.

My roommate and another friend actually just did this a couple weeks ago. THey trained for it a bit, but never did any other actual runs (like 10k or 1/2 marathon) I think they finished in like 4 hours 17 minutes (IDK if that's good or bad though) Oh and they were sore for about a week, my roommate was walking like he got it in the ass without lube

But he got you good, the way he so subtly added it in there. :D

Some of mine...

-Visit the 7 wonders of the world
-Travel through Europe
-Visit every major league baseball stadium (I may be going on a road trip to see 10-15 of them this summer)
-Play in one of the WSOP tournaments just to see what it's like (not the main event probably the $1500 razz tournament, it's my favorite game to play tournament instead of cash in)
24112, RE: Your list
Posted by Dualgen2, May-11-07 04:02 AM
- Move out of this state (MD)
- Go to Europe (England, Italy, Germany)
- Drive the Nürburgring
- Compete in a WSOP Event
- Build a car to compete in a driving circuit (not SCCA but on a real track, like Greg does)
- marry the girl from "redline" or find a girl that can drive like that :-)

sadly, that's all I can think of now

~go to Japan
~Be fluent in Japanese

Damn, I'm old. I already did a bunch of the crap wanted to do. My main goal now is to leave this world a little better than I found it (yeah, good luck with that).

I don't think you'll ever be done, you are always changing something going to bigger and better. :D If you haven't gone 2.4 already (since you're not telling us) then I forsee that in your future

Mike has been working on a 2.4L the whole time. He thinks he is sly but he isnt. What till he figures out his manifold isnt equal length, he will start over again.

I'd like to go home...

I'd like to drive my own car on the autobahn for once.

I'd like to spend an afternoon hearing Carlos Sainz talk about some of his favorite memories from WRC competition.

I'd like to spend more time with the sketch pad and some nice pencils.

As Terry said, you're not that sly buddy ;)

Oh and Terry...what are the goals for the final dyno numbers on the 2.0?

EDIT: meeeeet chuck norris was really a goal of yours, don't lie about joking

I want to produce over 400 before I pull it. It will be a do or die after the Shootout. The new motor will be in by winter and ready for spring.
