23552, Why I hate some Harley riders... Posted by eclipsekaiser, Apr-26-07 10:43 PM
Is it me or do they think they own the road whenever they are out.
Case and point:
I was coming home from work one day, and two Harley riders decked out in their finest homosexual studded chaps with the little matching vest come roaring up behind me. When I refuse to go any faster than 45 on surface roads, they decide to pass on the right and purposely brake checking me in the process. While waiting at the turn signal for the two lane freeway entrance, they actually had the nerve to turn their head and give me a dirty look. I'm sure in their mind, I was just another slow Asian driver in hospital scrubs.
When the light turn green I decided to return the favor. I'm sure I scared them when I performed my pass while remaining half way in their lane. I grinned when I look in my rearview and saw the biker on the right almost collided with the other rider while trying to avoid being clipped.
I do not condone antics such as this merely for road rage, but ever so often we little people need to express our feelings...
What ever happen to the old days where we share the road and motor bike riders being more cautious than other motorists.
Are the bikers in your area the smae?

Dude, that is soooo lame!! So you think that almost running these guys off the road was cool? I'll tell you what, being an HD rider or rider in general if you would have done that to me, I would have followed you and proceded to beat the ever living hell out of you. Man you gotta think, maybe they were just looking your direction..... Reguardless of what they may have or may have not done, YOU have no right to put their physical wellbeing and most importantly their lives at risk because of a "dirty look" or anything else for that matter. I hope you will look at this situation and see you would have been the one at fault (legally and morally)if anything would have happened to those riders. Grow up and be the bigger person when you feel you've been wronged.
Just my $.02

Oh, you don't like altezza's? Too bad, your gonna get a good look at mine.

Like, if he clipped and killed one when they brake checked him after passing? I a prick is a prick, it doesn't matter what they're driving or riding.

Grow up and be the bigger person when you feel you've been wronged. How is following someone home and committing assault and battery any different than repaying a brake check in kind? Obviously, the strokes on the hogs were a pair of jarfuck asshats, but that doesn't mean it was prudent to go to the trouble of repaying the favor.
I may have less respect for a hog rider than most bikes, but that's just because they're no longer the rebellious sign of freedom they once were. These days, they're overpriced, over-marketed cookie-cutter bikes which have become the rally cry of the fat, grey-haired 48 year old executive type. Who the fuck spends $30,000 on a "custom" Harley. Here's a tip: If you order the part out of a catalogue, it's about as custom as Payless Shoes.
Even so, I don't think Kaiser would want the karma of a biker going down because he couldn't control his temper. Regardless of how much the stroke probably deserved it. Better to let karma handle that.
Always give bikes their space. You never know what they're going to do on a whim...

This is funny because I actually proceded to stopped my bike in the middle of the road the other day when 2 kids in a hopped up GN decided to ride my ass and show off their bov. My fiancee who followed behind was there to cool things down. Very good thing. Of course you don't want to fuck with the dude who just got back from a combat tour and seen shit that most will only see in movies. PTSD is very real. Back on subject, you don't want to be the one responsible for someone else's life out here in the civilian world. Next time it happens, just let it ride bro. Like Dino said, don't matter who they are and what they're on. No use escalating it man. Leave those kind of shit to me. I can get away with it.

OK here is the difference. I am usually a very easy going individual, but the assult and battery would be a direct result of Attempted MURDER with a vehicle. Come on guys let think about this, sure in a car we've probably all givin a break check or two. What could happen, maybe a fender bender? On a bike who in their right mind is going to risk being run over (literally) with a brake check. I'm really shocked by the attitudes some of you have about this situation and HD riders. Funny thing is look up the stats and it's the sport bikes that tend to be more hazardous this days. In my personal opinion though it's all about the riders and not the bikes. :shrug

Oh, you don't like altezza's? Too bad, your gonna get a good look at mine.

He said the bikers gave him a brake check. They put themselves in danger if kaiser wasn't paying attention. There are a lot of asshats like that around my area as well. Usually they are 3X as loud as cars and can get away with loud exhaust as well.

Ok here is my point. He said he intentionally and deliberatly went into their lane. That was WRONG period. If he had such a problem with what happened, wait until the light, roll down the window or be a man and go up to them telling them how you feel about what happened. Don't try to run them over. Kaiser, would you have done the same thing to 2 guys on sport bikes? Just curious.

I probably would have have :shrug

So being a man would tell you to instigate something by pulling up next to them, getting out of the car, and start telling them "how you feel about what happened"? To me, it sounds like kaiser gave them a taste of their own medicine.

No where in his post did you say he tried to run over anybody. I don't know where you got that.

There's always a few bad apples on the tree in every group. Granted their actions were pretty lame, but your actions were not very cool either.
I ride a bike as well(sportbike and not crusiers/HDs) so my opinion maybe biased. Being swerved at by a car does hit a sore spot with me, I can't tell you the numerous times I have been swerved at or squeezed while lane splitting on the freeway in bumper to bumper traffic. Some asshats in cars do in so blatantly I can see them looking in the side mirror when coming up before they swerve over and try to block me out. They're the bad apples, but in a different light there are numerous people that will actually swerve out in the opposite direction to give me more room. I at least try to wave just to let them know, hey it's appreciated.

Funny thing is, if kaiser runs the biker down on the break check, he has a good chance of being found at fault. Insurance scammers use this technique to collect claims (not the pass on the right shit, lol).

HEY, HEY, HEY!!! :wary What chu' talkin' 'bout, Willis?! Rebellious? Why just the other day I was at my broker's and the receipt for my money market fund slipped out of my hand and blew down the road. What did I do? I just let it go.
Yeah, that's right, THAT'S how I roll! }(
You guys got it straight, it's the rider not the bike.

You're both at fault. You should have been the better man and ignored their actions.

23617, RE: Why I hate some Harley riders... Posted by ez, Apr-28-07 07:48 AM
You have more restraint than me. Since those harley fools love to blip their throttles every time they zoom past my open window, I return the favor. Light->green > me WOT -> pass you and merge into your lane -> 5% throttle.
Rule #1: Don't mess with me when I'm wearing my scrubs, especially if I'm leaving the hospital. I'm going to be more angry than you
Rule #2: Harley is bourgeios

They were assholes who started it, more power to ya brother.
Besides I'm sure some of you are reading too into his post, it doesn't sound like he did anything extremely dangerous to them. If he actually did slam on his brakes or pass two millimeters away from the right biker, then thats lame, but come on... I'm sure he had plenty of space and just slowed down in front of them to make a point. Not to narrowly avoid killing the assholes.

Edited. Kaiser, I ride a harley sir and you are banned. You want to threaten people on the road because they piss you off then label them? Make sure the very person who can remove you doesnt ride a bike let alone a harley. People like you are why I cant ride without worrying. Anyone else care to run thier mouth with pure ignorance?

That's fucking lame. THEY brake checked HIM. If YOU did that to ME, I'd throw a fucking brick at you. Just because you ride a bike doesn't give you a license to be a fucking douchebag.

This isnt about the bikes or cars, its about the people on them or in them.
I ride and I know riders and drivers who are on both sides here... I dont discriminate, I just hate everyone.

I had a guy do that to me one time when I had my eclipse... He passed me on right hand side of the road which was a bicycle lane no wider than maybe 36". I had to move over into the oncoming lane so I didn't hit him and give him room to pass me.
I caught him at the next light and just went off and cussed him out. I told him he was going to get himself killed doing stupid shit like that and most people wouldn't move over into oncoming traffic to give this stupid jackass room to pass in the bike lane. He put me in danger of having a head on collision or possibly hitting someone on a bicycle riding up the side of the road. All he did was tell me to Shut the fuck up and proceded to pull off as loudly and fast as possible. After thinking about it I wish I would of moved over into the bike lane to cut him off.
The way I see it is... If you wanna ride around all high and mighty and not use any common sense then you deserve to get yourself killed. I used to ride sport bikes and plan on getting another one in the near future. I have seen it from both perspectives. I've had 2 good friends killed on motorcycles. One was being a complete moron and got what was coming to him. The other was killed when someone didn't see him and pulled out in front of him. So my opinion comes from both sides.
My little brother got a bike about a year ago and got into riding around with his friends (same group my friend was killed with). They would go out hauling ass up and down the highway doing wheelies and swerving in and out of traffic. I told him he was stupid and was going to get killed. Not 2 weeks after I told him that he went down at around 60 mph. He got hurt pretty bad and had to have surgery on his knee. The injury ruined his career as a front tire carrier for Jimmy Johnson's nascar pit crew making 6 figures a year. He is still in nascar, but hes not on an elite team anymore and not making near as much money as he was. He just found out last weekend he is going to be a father in a few months and now his bike is forsale.
You wanna be stupid and it causes you to get killed then you got what was coming to you.

I can't believe people are still discussing about this thread...:)
Like I said, I don't give a rats ass if it is Yamaha, Suzuki, or a Specialized Bicycle. I just think sometime some bikers forget that they are the smaller vehicle on the road and brake checking a 2800 pound car is not wise...you will loose everytime.
Keep in mind I was minding my own business, and just because I refuse to go above the posted speed limit I get a brake check for punishment...? If this is the mentality, Guess what, I will be sure to return the favor next time.
I'm a Road Cyclist, and I know my place when I am on surface streets. I keep to my bike lane, and never assume motorists will yield the right of way to me.
With that in mind, let this thread go.
