23169, Crashed my bike....
Posted by cougar694u, Apr-16-07 06:10 PM
It's not what you think, though. I was riding my bicycle outside with my kids in my cul-de-sac. I was hanging a hard left when my pedal hit the ground and pulled my foot around 180 degrees outside and planted on my knee. I rashed up my knee, inside of my ankle (from my leg being twisted), elbow and forearm, and my hand.

Oh, and I also broke my Fibula. The nurse said tibia, but it's the smaller one that's not weight bearing.

I got hit by a car and walked away with a dislocated shoulder, then crash my bicycle 18 months later and break my leg. WTF? :owned

Ouch, I too learned my lesson about pedaling while turning, but at a much earlier age... and I didn't break anything.

I don't think the pedal hit at all. It was my long foot that hit and pulled my foot under.

LOL! That's how I roll, literally. It's about 3"-5" below my knee where it broke. I could apply pressure to the outside of my calf and feel the bones rubbing against each other, so I knew my stuff was messed up.

Dude that sucks. It's kind of a crappy way to break a leg. Yet it is slightly amusing.

It is a crappy way to break a leg, but at least I don't have a crashed motorcycle.

I was planning on hittin the streets of Houston the weekend of the 28th on the busa. Guess not.

I also have reservations for the first week of June in Austin to party on 6th street and ride the hill country. Guess that's not happening either.

I went to a specialist this morning (podiatrist) and he wants to operate saying I have torn tendons. I'm curious how he knows without me having an MRI, so I'm going for a second opinion tomorrow.

The doc that worked on my shoulder isn't available til may, but I went with the same orthopedic group. I'm just hoping for no surgery.

This reminds me of something i read once, about a sailor in a nuclear sub in the cold war or WWII (cant remember) that survived dying during combat without a single scratch then when he was getting off the sub when he got home, he fell and broke his back or something... freakey deakey like studio 54.

No shit. My dad worked with a guy out at Boeing back in the day. They were working on a wing doing something or other when this one dude slipped and fell off the wing. He dropped something like 20ft and landed, sitting down, right on his ass. BAM!

He stood right up and shouted to the other fellas that he thought that was as good a time as any to go grab lunch. They all went to the cafeteria and got their grub on. An hour or so later, when they all got up to get back to work, dude couldn't stand up. Fucking broke his back and was paralyzed from the waist down because he just got up and moved around.

Shit happens. Here's to a speedy recovery, Luke. :cheers

1/4 Times are all about the driver. :P

Were you wearing a helmet? If not, we need to strap one on you before you get onto the bus.

:nono Oh, the irony that would of followed had you of busted your melon on a foot-powered bicycle instead of the busa.

You don't really get to post after crashing a busa. Usually it's your heirs that do that.

Guess you haven't been around long enough to know that I crashed my busa (t-boned by a car) and walked away.

Results of the CT scan showed bone fragments in my ankle that need to be removed. I'm planning on the orthoscopic surgery on Tuesday.

Here's to 12-weeks of no riding. There goes the summer! :cry
