I am sorry guys, But I need a rant really bad here.

Every week I end up watching this piss poor show with my wife and I have to say, it is the most rediculous waste of time and money I haver ever seen in my life. I think they should have given up after the first one. This is what the 6th season now and what the hell even hapened to the winners? Only people you hear are Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson and all the losers become bigger then the winners. What hap'd to that fat guy who won, Ruben? What about the Jay Lenno look a like Taylor Hicks? I mean seriously, what the hell is the point of this show?

I am sick of seeing Paula's dirty corked up drugged out ass. Sick of Randy Jackson saying 'Dawg' and 'Man I just dont know'...my question is, what the hell does he know?

Not one fucking person can sing on this show except for the young 18year old chick. The other two women just scream, they belong in a church. Haylee, well I just wanna see her naked...this other guy Phil, his eyes are bigger than my whole fucking head. Then you have this piece of shit wanna be Justin Timberlake kid. Then some guy who is good at beat boxing, but wait, this is a singing competition right? And lastly, this piece of shit Michael Jackson look-a-like, Sanjaya? I mean seriously, what the hell is the point of this show?

If it is a competition, why do all these stupid fucks cry when someone gets eliminated? My ass would be waving thier monkey asses goodbye.

Sorry for the rant, but I seriously wish I could just eliminate this show from my television. I just dont see the point. America doesnt vote for the best singer, they just vote for the hell of it. This show is worthless, everyone on the show is worthless including Ryan Seacrest, the judges are worthless and so is everything period.

Im sick of seeing all these retarded ass game shows and competitions on television. What is wrong with this world? Instead of sending money to actually help this world like helping cancer victims, people in need of health benefits in other countires, and what not, we choose to spend millions and billions of dollars to run and air shows like this. Then, American Idol asks for voters to donate money to help kids in Africa. Haha, what a fucking joke. I wouldnt donate a clipping of my fucking toe nails to that show...that money goes right into Paula's pocket to get some dope for the night after the show.

End the show, and do something better with the money. Build a fucking 2gnt or something.

I need to send this to FOX so they can see America's true feeling about their worthless show and their worthless singers.

You yourself say that for some reason you end up watching it every week!
No matter what your opinions of the show are, how gay the contestants are, how non talented, etc.. all that matters is ratings, and ratings are given by ammount of viewers tuned in.
Thus you may hate it all you want, but the fact that you watch it every week (and from the rant i take it you have seen it since its early days)just makes the show that much more of a hit.

I've actually NEVER watched american idol. I guess it's a benefit of working 2nd shift. None of that prime time bullshit for me. I get home and watch discovery HD or poke around on the net.

it may be a wifey thing but just dont watch it or bust out an mp3 player and listen to tom leykas or something amusing while "watching" it. i hate crap tv like that. all i watch is futureweapons, man vs wild, mythbusters, deadliest catch. yea pretty much all discover channel entirely along with cnn and sports. nearly everything else is crap nowadays

I dont watch it all the time. My wife watches it every week and I usually end up just switching channles between it and a sports game thats usually on, so I end up watching it while on sports commercial breaks :)

I haven't had cable TV for two years now at school. I am a better person, than I was before, because of it.

I've only seen American Idol once and that was at the beginning of the season when they have all the horrible singers on. It was pretty funny but I never seemed to catch the next episode.

It's all homogenized oblivion :thumbsdown.

I hate primetime TV with a passion...especially American Idol.

Give me the discovery/tlc/history, sports, and maybe a movie channel or two, but other than that...the hell with TV. It all pretty much sucks.

I've often thought that American Manufactured Pop Star of the Year (aka: The RIA Gets Revenge for all your Pirated Music) would be the best show on television if they would just implement ideas like this:

Replace Paula and that clueless brother with Dee Snyder and Henry Rollins. Then install a trap door under the stage. Give the contestant fifteen seconds to make an impression on the audience. At that point, the voting buttons go live.

Think of it as being more like Showtime! At the Apollo. The audience holds nothing back when someone sucks. They vote on each contestant as pass or fail. Should someone fail, they are dropped through the trapdoor into a chamber.

Each week there could be a theme - shark tank, angry bull, big, bald bear chase, etc. Then the show cuts live to watch the failure (because so many of them are failures) try to avoid a particularly grisly, and often comical, fate.

Then again, nobody ever listens to my ideas anyway... :( (sigh)

I have to agree that I hate American Idol BUT it's not the worst show on American Television. That would have to be the bachelor. I fucking hate that show. What suprises me more is that women love it. WTF? Seriously, I had to fucking watch the bachelor instead of 24 cuz the woman thinks it's romantic?! WTF? Take 24 hot successful women basically pimping themselves to be with a moderately rich (by today's standards) guy who is probably a big gigantic player. And they eat this shit up. OMG ... I'm a guy and I think the women on the show and anyone who watches it are the biggest suckers on the planet. I just want to beat myself to death whenever I hear women talk about how much they love that show.

haha, after reading through this thread it looks like I'm not the only one that loves the Discovery Channel

American Idol blows I've watched it maybe twice with the girl and it's just dumb as hell like the rest of those types of shows

Any game worth a damn actually involves the title:
-Mousetrap - you build a trap to catch the mouse
-Monopoly - you own all the properties
-Wheel of Fortune - you spin a wheel with monetary amounts on it :P

Implant a tracking device in each contestant, then drop them all off on a remote island which has been pre-wired for A/V (HD if you like). On the beach, they find a flare gun, a machete, and a broke ass raft. They all have to work together in order to, get this, survive. Anyone who doesn't contribute is driven from the team to fend for themselves.

Make the show go until only one person remains. No bullshit "tribal" games. No bullshit "immunity." If you get Malaria, then you better get well pretty damn quick or they're going to go hit the big red button which summons the helicopter to come airlift your ass off the beach.

I suspect this would make for some damn interesting TV. Then again, I'm sure that, given a couple minor liberties taken with the Bill of Rights, we could make any "Reality" show truly entertaining.

Discovery owns, though. Those new Planet Earth shows are awesome. Am I the only one who saw that Snow Leopard fucking chase that antelope or whatever down a damn near vertical cliff face in the snow? That shit was crazy!
