What happened to the afternoon chat sessions? No ones ever in there anymore :shrug

The problem is that it's all web / AJAX based instead of having a DB backend... so I can't poll a table to show there's users there. Not being able to see there's someone else in there is a big detraction for most people.

That's it exactly. In the previous chat version, I'd just leave the chat window open and people would see I'm in there and almost immediately someone would join in. Now it's pointless. I miss the old chatters.

sweet I miss Warband at times...

I still check in once or twice a day. No one is ever there, so I leave pretty quickly.

So that's why every time I open it now there's nobody in there. I went in there the other day when a few of us were posting in the same threads at the same time to BS about what we were saying and b/c I only saw my name I immediately left

It'll never say less than one, but it'll be accurate that aside. Fuckin W00ooT!

I found a function (class, actually) that grabs the online nick list. I counted the array and had it write the number out to a file. When the forum loads, before It genrates the menu array i had it grab the contents of that file.. Now, we can have a count. However, when the last user leaves, nothing can reset it to zero because nothing is refreshing the interface. So it says 1.

Okay, yeah, i fixed the "1 user" thing too. if the file hasn't been modified in 30 seconds (file mtime) then no one is in the chat. The count can be 0 regardless of what the file says. Nuuur.

We're strong in K36 and K62 it seems. Mostly East and SW.

We're part of HOT now. One of the stronger tribes in the game IMO. I'm almost half a mill points...

wow lots going on... sux that the tribe was swallowed.. but i guess an impression must have been made in order to have been asked for that merger.

...and look, now that people can see how many people are chatting, the place has 5, 6 people in it. Huh.

Well, the tribe retained its identity for the most part. We're HOT|Warband and by and large its run by the same people and in the same way as it always was. We're the #13 tribe in W2 these days too :)
