Went pretty fast and was painless for the most part. Closing was exactly 13 days from making my offer and signing the contract. ;)
You guys probably won't be seeing me for a few days. Tomorrow we move and Sunday will be unpacking...

Awesome. I'm in the process of saving up for a house now. Hopefully I'll be where I want to be in a year or so.

Congrats dude! I can't see myself buying a house anytime soon. I'm actually trying to get the city to hook my up with this abandoned building and convert it into the Nerdery. Yeah, with fucking robotic gun turrets that shoot wiggers. Can't wait!

Finally got enough stuff unpacked that I could hook up my computer and not have my wife asking me to do something every 5 min.
The previous owners left a TON of stuff here! Good and bad I guess. The moved to FL and basically took the "big" furniture, clothes and their personal effects.
So, I ended up with:
3 refrigerators and 1 upright freezer FULL of food. (did I mention they were an old school Italian couple that owned a restaraunt for many years? ;) ) A real nice surprise was one of the fridge's was old and in the garage. I didn't even know it was plugged in until I heard it kick on. I went and opened it and there was a full 12 pack of Bud-Light longnecks. There was 4 other guys helping me so they got them.
All the yard tools/supplies including 2 rototillars (1 brand new) and a brand new riding lawn mower.
Booze EVERYWHERE! It seems like everywhere I look, there's booze. They also left us a bottle of Korbel in the fridge for our first night here that we polished off and then I found another in the garage fridge.
There's also a wood shop in the basement that has 2 table saws, and a SHITLOAD of misc tools/supplies for the upkeep of the house.
I could go on and on...
I'll see if I can dig out my camera eventually and get some pics.

They left all the blinds and window treatments. ;) I don't really have any neighbors anyway...

you got the hookup on all the free stuffs. at my house they just left a bunch of crap that i had to throw away. :-(

Oh, they left alot of junk too. Just the good stuff they left far outweighs the garbage...
