I knwo its been awhile since Ive last posted but hopfully I still get some luv here :)

Here's the thing... Since the tragic loss of my GS Im having a 92 240sx built at proto motoring in rancho cucamunca Ca and Im having difficulties deciding on the motor. Should I go with the SR20DET silvia motor? Or the KA24DE? Ive been doing alot of research but still cant decide...I know the Sr20det is a very impressive motor but from what ive been reading it seems to have more of a WOW factor while showing off the car as opposed to raw power of the KA.The SR20 puts down 20-30 more HP and revs to aprox. 9k but the KA has larger displacment 55 lbs more tq and has a much much stronger bottom end derriving from the nissan trucks this makes sense... Im confucsed as all hell and need to make a disission in the next 3-4 weeks (thats when they'll be done doing the S13 body conversion) So help an old 2gnter out will ya? :)

SR20 - This engine will fetch a premium two weeks before Race Wars. :P

I'd opt for this one because of the more extensive aftermarket support. Seems to me it's popularity, while a negative on the non-conformist side, comes through as providing you with more options to build into your car.

KA24 - The only reason I would choose this engine would be to piss off all the dipshit, mindless sheep out there who say you "have to" swap in the SR20. You might have to dig a little deeper to find what you want than you would with the SR20, but you can have fun making the naysayers eat their words.

This is the same reason I want to buy a Supra and either rice the hell out of it or swap in a GM 3800 Series V6. Just to piss off all those retards who do nothing more than regurgitate shit they've read online during third period English. :P

DRIGGS!!! long time no chat... ya I agree with you about the KA kind of the same reason I baught my 2gnt... just to piss off the 4g63 guys lol And actually the shops giving me the same price for both the KA and the SR the KA however is a new rebuild... the SR is a used Jap motor (24k miles)This is actually a nice shop.... Im impressed by what they do... basically buy used POS imports and build em up to the customers spec check em out @ http://www.protomotoring.com/ I really want the turbo'd lexus but hey its not like I shit $$$ these days :)
Also I was checking out some nissan proformance site... u know I have pick up a t3/4 kit for the KA for under 1g?

Swap an RB if you want to wow people, if not an SR20DET is the next best thing.

Very true , unfortunatly, the RB isnt one of my options. Besides I'm going have this as a daily driver

True, this is the new "fad". A lot more power stock than the SR. You could probably keep the RB stock and be faster than a lot of modded SR's. I keep reading in mags nowadays that have walk-throughs of putting one in the 240's with great results.

I think you should find a new hobby.

True Ive been readin all damn night about the RB with great results.. question is... don't think that swap would qualify as stock replacment CARB exempt here in cali :(

he's done several 240's... some w/RB motors, some w/SR motors, etc...

currently, he's finishin up a RB26 w/single GT42R..... his last RB, rb25 w/t-66 was rediculous!!
