My first thought was Saturn Sky + S2000. I think you win though on second glance.

I thought that too. IDK about it. Probably one of those things that'll grow on me. I think the sky is cooler looking though

I love it.

But um... how do you open the hood? It's body molded to the fenders and around the headlights. Corvette style maybe?

And then there's the 2.4 World engine, ok rawk. 6-speed tranny, ok maybe. Rear wheel drive?! WTF I wasn't aware mopar had a 6spd RWD tranny platform?

I wonder who's going to be the first magazine writer pussy to complain it isn't 6cyl "like its 350z competitor"? lawl

Is it just me, or does this seem to be a direct make off of the Crossfire?... only better of course.
Either way, there would be some nice competition between that and the Solstice GTP/ Saturn Sky.

Seems confused. Part Crossfire, part Dodge Ram, part Z4, part 350z, all ugly. It doesn't flow well at all. Try again please.

Who cares if it's ugly? They make body kits for that sort of thing if you're hung up on looks. Look at the Solstice, its an ugly piece of shit, and underpowered as hell. Not to mention made by GM.

Here, we have a 420a-ish powered, possibly turbo, RWD, 6spd, SPORTS CAR built by a decent manufacturer. Who CARES what it looks like?! Complaining about looks and lines gets you a fatass Evo X. Knock it off.

I like it. it'll never see the light of day, though. None of the good ones ever do.

Doesn't do a thing for me, sorry. If they clean up the thing for production it might end up all right, but as it sits there are way too many design elements present and they don't flow together IMO. You like it, pony up and buy one. :shrug

Be honest, when was the last time you went into a car dealership and asked to see a car with lots of "design elements"?

I dunno, a car is transportation and maybe entertainment, not art. You want art on top of performance then hang it on your wall.

The funniest thing about picking a car on its looks is this Lambo was probably acclaimed worldwide as the most beautiful car with the most intricate lines, and perfection of design elements never before thought possible in a car. But since it's 20 years old and we've seen it on countless posters, it's now considered "outmoded, ugly, garish, and too complicated".

So, what's the difference between consumers and enthusiasts?

And remember, 10 years ago the DSM was bashed by every consumer car magazine for having "too much understeer", "rediculous torque steer", "spacecraft looks", "impractical", "poor gas mileage" etc. etc. etc. So the car got replaced by the 3G, which is what the manufacturers, as best as they could tell, was what consumers wanted. A stable, controlled, good looking, V-6 powered car, with geomechanical design elements.
