So I've been traveling with some friends up the west coast of India, we decided to stop in Mumbai
which seems to be the cleanest large city I've been to so far, it also has some decent bars and
clubs. We visited these caves on some island, one of the people I am traveling with almost got
attacked by a monkey, he was able to run away before getting bitten. After that we always had
some rocks in our hands...



In Sasan Gir there is a lion park, it costs about 600 rupees a person to hire a guide who drives
you around this beautiful park for a few hours in the early morning. The permit easily obtaniable
specifically forbids exiting the Jeep in the park and walking around, which requires a "trekking"
permit, but our guide told us that we would never see a lion unless we illegally started walking
around... eventually we found four in a group, 3 of them were walking away from us but one was
sitting down, we got within about 50 yards... it was completely uncaged. After spending about 30
seconds that close it turned around and started looking at us, at which point we decided it was a
good time to leave.



I'm now in Diu, which is a small island settled by the Portuguese a long time ago. I took this
panoramic image from the top of the hotel (old church) we are staying at, it has been
autostiched.

India sure is a trip huh? If you get a chance, check out Hyderabad, sure its in the middle of the country, but damn its impressive!

Yeah, the street vendors are really annoying. They see a white person and try to sell you something worth 40 rupees (about $1) at about 500 rupees (about $10)

Rickshaw drivers aren't much better. Most of them have meters, but they kick and scream and usually I have to ask several of them before I find someone who doesn't give me some outrageus fixed rate.


That's a rickshaw (taxi). Most of them have 2 stroke engines and are powered by LPG, and they pollute like crazy.

One thing that I didn't expect about this country is how flamboyant the cars, trucks, and all veichles here are. They all have really crazy horns, most of the buses have horns that play little tunes and they are very loud. Most of them are irritating, because everyone here uses their horns ALL the time. I'm talking about the horn might as well be connected to the brake pedal. Most of the trucks are painted all sorts of crazy colors, and most of the buses are decorated and blessed daily with flowers and other stuff.

Well, I'm off to find a Mexican resturant here in Mumbai. I've had a craving for that shit for the past month or so...

India is awesome, I think I'll have to go again. I personally think that everybody from the U.S. should go so they will stop complaining about how "bad" things are here.
