Perhaps the air is really dry in your house right now. I used to get nosebleeds from the air being to dry when I was a younger. Usually happened in the winter too.

Never had this problem. Like 20 years ago, my brother smelled a tea bag and his nose bled like a stuck pig :shrug

I get them ALL the time. I've also been cauderized twice (suppose to basically stop nose bleeds forever), and I still get them randomely all the time. The best way to stop a nose bleed is with a cotton ball. One cotton ball is all it ussually takes. I keep them in my dorm at all times.

Could be a vitamin c deficiency.

Most likely the mucosa is just dry - this can be from low humidity, medications, or your "normal" baseline. A humidifier can help yes, and also OTC saline nasal sprays. I don't know if you have any sinus problems or upper respiratory symptoms, but that's a start.

Someone mentioned a vit C deficiency, but that is exceedingly rare.

I had them growing up. Humidifier fixed it right up.

I second the Vitamin C deficiency, I had that too, and took vitamin tablets for a few days, and was long gone for a while. But now i get them once in a while.

I think the doctor said it was "Capillary deficiency"?

This reminds me i have to go to an ENT ear nose and throat specialist tomorrow to have my nose looked at. I think they are going to break my nose and reset the bone so i can breath for the first time in my in my 25 years on earth.

What? LOL.

Vitamin C deficiency is not likely to be an issue, and vitamin supplements are a waste of money for healthy people. Vitamin C deficiency looks like the following: poor wound healing, gingivitis, tooth loss, decreased immune function/increased infections. Severe deficiency gives you scurvy (an issue if you are like, a pirate or something) - and while that can give you hemorrhages and cutaneous bleeding, you'd have some other serious things going on too.

+1 for the weather being colder and dryer than usual, causing your capillaries in your nasal vestibule to rupture at the slightest pressure change.

Stay hydrated.

Vitamin C has nothing to do with this.

Haz, i get them in the dry cold weather as well. The more you are outside in the dry air the more frequent they will become.

Humidifier should help like posted above.

Hurt kind of bad as they are basically chemically burning the inside of your nostril. DEFINITELY worth the pain if it works though.

how come MY nose only usually bleeds during REALLY hot weather or long exposure in the sun? Ive always wondered, but it only happens 2-3 times per year, during summer and such.

I've got random nose bleeds since I was a tyke. I'm sure all the brake cleaner and brake dust every day doesn't help.

Seems to only happen during extreme temp's however. Whenever I feel my nose is dry, I use saline spray (as mentioned) and it's almost guaranteed not to bleed.
