Anyone else remember "The good old days," when you were really excited about getting the 2GNTs together and showing them off or going to the races? A newbie on az2gnt posted today asking if we ever got together and went to the drags at Firebird International. The answer is yes. There was one time when every member of az2gnt showed up to a meet and we all went down to the races.

In some ways, this picture kinda depresses me, since one of those cars is dead, and two others are long gone. Flashbacks to happy times. Post up your oldest pics from a meet, fellas. Let's see who has the oldest.

I know the owner of that dark 1st gen in front. He used to be in the Army. I put his front suspension back together because he busted himself up trying to get it back together in the dark. I found out later that the car got totalled out from some ass hat hitting him in the rear quarter. Notice the flat black painted GT mustang wheels.

The first ever FLDSM meet, sometime in '03 I believe. It was at a Checkers in Tampa.


The second one, this time at Bradenton Motorsports Park.


The last one, also at BMP; I sold my 2GNT a few months afterward.


I think FLDSM meets pretty much stopped once I left the community; it was a bitch to set them up though. What's funny is the red GSX beside me in that pic is completely different now:

FP Green, bigger FMIC, 2GB conversion, Rota's, and a trap speed in the 1/4 that would've netted him mid 11's had he not bogged the launch.

Seeing these old pics of my car really makes me miss her. Granted, she was nowhere near as powerful as the GTP is, but she handled like a dream, never gave me a problem outside of regular maintenance, and got great gas mileage. Every now and then I'm tempted to sell the GTP and pick up a used 99 GS.

Jesus I miss my 2GNT. :( Even though my skittle still wiped the floor with my RS-T bone stock she was still very fun to drive. *sigh*

Yup. Pretty much all 2GNTs except for Kaisers rally neon and my rally 1GNT.

And Eric's GST. That was an awesome sight- And because they were all 2gnt's instead of tooners, we could caravan without fear of collisions.

Injen dood your old eclipse is still alive and kicking. The nose hasn't gotten any better but the new owner has plans to get her looking respectable. I had to put a clutch in it for him last month. Oh yeah and front brakes at the same time. All and all not a bad running car.

Yep. That's what I was thinking too. Bittersweet. I still remember how excited I was and how important going to that Sonic felt that night. John (run4cvr) beat a MkIV Supra that night. Sure it was a NT, automatic driven by a chick, but he still beat a Supra. Uber's first ever run in the Skittle beat Paul (taloniized) by something like two tenths, and I still had to sit it out due to a blown head gasket and cracked windshield. :P

That was the original az2gnt. run4cvr, DR1665, taloniized, and uberingram. We've got 70 members, now, but things just aren't the same. :shrug

This thread is terrible and applies to much more then just cars. I could honestly go back about 4 years and I would be perfectly happy in life... :(

Anyways, this was my one "major" meet. Chris (2crazy4u) and I drove roughly 4-5 hours together up to Tacoma, WA from south of Portland, OR.

Was a decent turn out I guess. We had some food and cruised and stuff. Was a great day. I believe it was april 2005 ish.

That was a helluva run. Not bad for a 2.6 60' :P I wish I would have run the RS-T that night considering the eventual fate of the car but I was so afraid of it blowing up.
