Well after plenty of troubles with the RS and a massive oil leak, it's been put off to the side for now.

I picked myself up a brand new EVO IX today. She only had 13 miles on her and it's black to match the eclipse. I kept the RS so I'm not a traitor all together, but so far this thing is amazing and I can see it being a while before I step back into the eclipse. It's great to have power windows/locks/mirrors and a black interior. I'm in love

You guys can at least be glad you didn't just get into debt up to your eyeballs. My parents are making payments till I start working in the summer, but, after that I have to make the payments and pay them back the 6 months or so of payments that they will have put out for me :ouch where's that smilie of the guy being chased with the axe, I'm gonna be him for a while. So true, I've seen it done on a friends, 345 whp with exhaust, mbc, and a reflash. I was actually thinking that instead of getting an exhaust having an electronic cutout welded in before the cat this way it's just a flip of a switch when I want and I can still keep the stock exhaust.

What's even better is the dealership I got it from works with turbotrix (if you've never heard of them they're pretty much the evo/4g63 experts in Jersey), so any work they do is warranteed by the dealership.

haha, that's my brothers, SS. I have driving it to thank for wanting a fast car and now I got one. I do love the SS too, it sounds amazing at wot with a full 3" exhaust. Now we are finally evenly matched.

Not being able to get an Evo IX in Canada is probably one of the greatest injustices ever done to the country of Canada.. I am pretty jealous of your new car there.

Sometimes I wish I bought an EVO IX MR instead of the LGT but my pockets are thanking me. (twice as much for the insurance and about $8-10G's more $) Listen to Tony about the flash, etc. Although I didn't get to ride in it at the shootout, the dyno #'s were very impressive and I hope to get a ride at the next shootout. Congrats on the new ride. I just broke 1000 miles last night on the LGT.

MBC is now hooked up and I have a LICP waiting to go on. I hope to break 300 AWHP on Buschurs Dyno next year. That would put me around 350ish on a dynojet. Not too shabby for still having less than $1K in mods ;)

Only one passenger per ride fellas, don't forget about the cage! I'm hoping the car will be good for around 375-ish awhp on race gas, and should be able to pull well over 1.5 lateral g's on the Hoosiers.

You know, two years later, I still like to casually mention to a new Z owner who thinks his bone stock ride is better than my car that I had a chance to drive one with the turbo system on it over two years ago and man, was that a sweet ride. Having something that idles right, is quiet, has power windows/locks and is powerful is great so far. I have a feeling I'm definetly going to be taking my time on the eclipse. I don't want to do much to the evo though, just enough to get her in the 12's then I can get back to fixing the eclipse. Although I do have a brand new zeitronix wideband and hallman mbc sitting in my room for the eclipse that may get inherited by the evo when the time comes to mod it.

Mind if I ask how much everything ended up being? Total cost, monthly payments, did you make a down payment?

haha, no I don't mind. $30,200 before tax title license 5k down 514/mo for 68 mo.'s Yeah way too much, that's about 40k paid out after the total loan, but I plan on either refinancing when interest rates start heading down (may be able to get a below market loan through my employer after I start working also) if not I will roll it into a mortgage in 2 or 3 years when I buy a house so I only have to make one payment.

Its a lot, but the only other sedans I really liked were the legacy 2.5 gt and the mazdaspeed6, acura tl and tsx. Pretty much all in the price range of the evo give or take a few thousand, so might as well get what I really wanted.
