19447, who's lucky? i'm lucky!

so i went to Lowe's today to buy a dremel to cut some pipe for this intercooler i just bought. while i was there i got a piece of rubber 90 degree hose as well. as i go to check out i see the lady scan the dremel and the pipe. the dremel was about 60 and the hose was 10. the lady whose line i went through had lost her voice or something and didn't tell me the price so i just handed her a 100 dollar bill...here's the good part, she hands me back 80 dollars. so i'm thinking yes she didn't ring up the dremel and that babys mine for free!!! this is my lucky day until she's like oh wait i gave you the wrong change, i was only supposed to give you 9. so i was a little bumed and had to stand there awhile till someone came to open here drawer. well, when they came she pulled out 9 dollars, handed to me, and told me to have a good day!!! as i hurried out to my car before she realized what she had done i looked at the receipt and somehow she had only rang up the pipe! so basically i got a free 60 dollar dremel. thank you Lowe's!

I consolidated some credit cards a couple days ago and made the loan to be about 200 dollars extra so I could go grocery shopping and what not. When I deposited the loan check and cashed the 200 extra the teller asked how I wanted the bills and I told him 2 100 spots would be fine. He counted out two and I left. I got home and the 100's were so new they were stuck to each other. Each one had another 100 stuck to it. I keep checking my bank account from home and it looks like they can't trace the error since it was a cash error.

Bank makes 200 dollar error in my favor. wo.0t bo.0ts :7

what's funny is he's going to hook that 90 degree hose up to the compressor and melt through the fucker in an hour of drive time, then it's gonna drip into the housing onto the shaft and gum up the seal's, hence blowing a $300 turbo, at which point he'll realize he spent the karma on the Dremel and lost $240 on the deal. You're welcome BTW

Yeah, and now that teller might not have a job. We will fire tellers if they are off a lot of cash. Might want to think about taking that extra cash back or know that you could cause someone to lose their job.

And prolong this person's banking career when they have no attention to detail? Would you want this person working for you? I wouldn't and obviously you don't either if you fire them. There are jobs were you just can't be lazy and I'd imagine that work with money is one of them. I don't see the point in helping them at a job they suck at.

Accidents happen...especially with new money. The new bills stick together alot. It doesn't matter to me either way. Keep the money and be a dick, or take it back. Isn't my problem.

But I guess that makes me a dick. Oh well, I'm sure we'll get over it.

So she gave you nine dollars change for a 100 bill, when the total was only seventy? Sounds like you got ripped off... Not you getting lucky... WAIT, she never took the eighty back? That's awesome :thumbsup I once went to Sonic, bought a drink and something else, and the total was like three eighty or something. Gave the woman a five and got like 16 back... Gotta love people that didn't finish high school :P

When I was back in HS I went out to eat with some friends. Well the waitress was a real bitch.. I gave her a 20 and she gave me back $24 in change. If she wasn't a bitch I would have told her.. instead I got a free meal and a few extra dollars in my pocket. She shoulda been nicer.

That dremal was on sale for $29 anyway, via the web. You order it online and pick it up in store. I kept meaning to get one, but didn't.

At least in that case it won't come back on her. In the others, the teller/cashier/waitress will have to come out of pocket for the fuck up.

I pulled up at the atm at my bank the other night behind some dumbass.

He left his $80 in the machine for me to pull up and grab. I watched him leave the parking lot and go down the street with out turning back so.

It's mine now. lol

the way i look at these things, it all evens out in the end. The universe/fate/whatever favors you NOW, but will screw you back for all of it, or viceversa. But ide never be able to screw some one like some of these peeps knowingly.

Im lucky everyday my car turns on, everytime my clutch pedal pops back out in the middle of an intersection and i dont get slammed and killed by a fucking semi every morning on my way to school. So receive a little and enjoy, but dont be pissed off when its your turn to give.

It totally ends up even.

Still, I beat you all with free money:

When I got my cingular phone, I had to leave $300 deposit. A year later I get a $900 check as a refund. :D

Next day I got pulled over and pay $300 in fines for speeding and "careless driving" (yeah sure, I was speeding so carefully :D ), so yeah, it all evens out.

I guess that would explain why the electric company screwed me out of 500 dollars. That means this cosmic force you speak of still owes me 300 bucks. :P

Well its isnt some "magical" force out there is just how things work in all of nature, chemistry physics. There HAS to be a balance... and why not life then? You just wait and you'l see you get repaid for those 300 bucks, maybe not cash but some thing of more or less equal value.

First of all, this doesn't make sense.

You first paid with a 100 dollar bill, and you got 80 back, meaning you paid 20.

Then she said she gave you the wrong change and was only supposed to give you 9 back, meaning you paid 91 dollars, which is about 30 dollars over how much the Dremel and hose was.

:shrug

Oh, and yeah, that Dremel will probably be a defective one or something, just so karma can get you back. Lol.

I think what he meant was, she gave him $80 back PLUS an ADDITIONAL $9.
