19423, Ipod question...? Posted by eclipse982nrRST, Dec-25-06 09:25 AM
My wife's sister got a new Sansa Ipod thing for Christmas and we cannot figure out how to load the music onto the damn thing! I downloaded Itunes and paid for MP3 Rocket music share or some shit like that and it says to go into My Computer and then just select the song and send it to the Ipod under the J: drive that it is showing its connected under. When I do this, it says 'writing' on the Ipod, then I disconnect the Ipod but it doesnt show any music on it, it says its 'empty'. Can anyone tell me what we are doing wrong or what I need to do to get the music onto the Ipod PLEASE?
Thanks!

Load the music into iTunes, and then when you hook up the iPod via usb cable, iTunes will take care of the rest.
To load music into iTunes..go to File>Add File, or File>Add Folder.

Is it an Ipod? or is it a sansa mp3 player- if its a sansa- the way i used to load into mine is when I plug it into the computer, it reads it as an external drive so I drag the files into the "drive" it creates for it in My Computer...

If it uses flash memory for the storage, you need to click the safely remove hardware icon in the taskbar by the clock, and hit stop on it. If you don't do this it will usually not show any music you copied over.

I think that is what is happening, Thanks. I will try this tomorrow when I go back over to look at it again.
Also, she said the battery is dead but it doesnt have a charger, is she just dumb or is there a special way to charge these things?
Sorry, I know nothing about these things at all.

it charges when you put it in the computer. Use the USB to charge it.
