19250, I'm go'n to the OC CA. Posted by micyek, Dec-20-06 02:50 AM
Ok...so that sounds pretty cliche.
My wife has training for her new job there and since she doesn't like traveling in general, and she's never flown by herself I'm gonna take a few days of work and tag along. Since she’ll probably be in training during most of the day and I like seeing shit I've never seen before is there anything that I must see while I'm out there? I wish I had more details on were we are staying...but I guess it's a bitch'n hotel.
I'm just looking forward to the nicer weather then what I'm used to this time of year, even though it's only in the 60's there today. I'll be there from 1-2-07 to 1-4-07.
*edit*
So I'm a little tard'd....moved from the performance/engine section. At least I can fixed my own mistakes now...heh

hmmm the OC... Santa Ana, Anaheim Area/ LA right? because we have an OC here in San Diego aswell. Anywho...what do you like? there is the Getty Museum in Downtown LA, Disneyland, Ripleys Museum, Knotts Scary Farm, UCLA, USC, the NASA JPL laboratory in Pasadena, there is also always my home town of Tijuana. Which contrary to most of u guys belief has much more than bars and such. we have the CECUT, beautiful beaches, FOX studios/tour/museum down in Rosarito, La Buffadora, Cave paintings, the grey whales are comming over here this time of year. You could go to Santa Catalina Island, just take a ferry from Long Beach...lots and lots of cheap but fun stuff, so just let me know :)

Orange County is a bleak, white bread, collection of suburbs where people go to buy cheap houses on tiny lots so they can feel rich for the 8 hours of the day they're not commuting to or working in LA. There's really nothing to see other than the 2 touristy spots mentioned above in Anaheim and Buena Park.
I can't wait for Turby to find this thread.
I'm gonna be out in the mountains boarding that week but I'm sure some other Socal guys will be around.

There are ALOT of "OC's" in California, who the fuck can say their's is THE OC? Its like that guy that tried to argue with me that he lives in THE "Bay Area" when my house is less than 1/2 a mile from the ocean?

There is an OC adjacent to San Diego...
Anyways, why the hell would he come to CA, and not get out of THAT "OC" its like going to Vegas and only going into one casino. All the spots i mentioned are 2 or less hours away, so check them out and have a blast :thumbsup

19260, RE: I'm go'n to the OC CA. Posted by thedawg, Dec-20-06 11:40 AM
? I think you posted the wrong picture... there's no "OC" on that pic besides orange county... No shemale vids either :(
Do you think the Orange County that borders San Diego is different from the one that borders Los Angeles County?
|
19262, RE: I'm go'n to the OC CA. Posted by edxmon, Dec-20-06 12:33 PM
Yes they are different. But they are both "OC's". Google is a great tool, look for "orange county" and i bet you there will be some ALL over the nation and some more in CA. Are they different? Yes, are they all "OC's" Yes.
Sorry no shemale vids, I highly doubt the library would allow that, aside from all downloads being blocked.

Geography lesson for the day. There is only one Orange County in California.

LOL Dan, this was entertaining...I was reading this wondering what the heck he was talking about :) Glad everyone is in agreement that there is only one OC in California, right in between LA and SD.

God, OC. I've lived in Southern California all my life, and I literally have set foot in OC less than a dozen times. And most of those have been for amusement parks. I try my best just to DRIVE THROUGH IT, and never look back. I can't quite put my finger on it b/c there are so many things to put that finger on, but when I think of the cultural ideologies that can lead to a nations downfall, I can think of nothing more representative of impending doom then Orange County. greed, materialism, entitlement, bourgeois land holders, hummers and beamers financed via HELOCs, me-me-me, and like Dan mentioned, the ubiquitous McMansions on postage-stamp sized lots going for $800,000.
Sorry that this had absolutely NOTHING to do with your posted question. I'm just welcoming you to hell, that's all

Im sorry but the eastern part of San Diego, is also called "Orange County", from the break of 12th street in downtown to the East.
Point im trying to make is, you can pretty much make it to the border and back in 3 hours if you chose the right times. /end rant

1) There is no 12th street in downtown San Diego, the street between 11th Ave and 13th St. is called Park Blvd. 2) The only county east of San Diego is Imperial county, the border is out in the middle of the desert, south of the Salton Sea.
Got any maps of this "OC" in the middle of San Diego? I always referred to everywhere east of downtown as "the ghetto"... maybe someone nicknamed it Orange County in an attempt to be funny/ironic?

19282, RE: I'm go'n to the OC CA. Posted by 97esiboosted, Dec-20-06 02:57 PM

You're right, I checked out a map, and Park turns into 12th AVE (not 12th St ;)) for 5 blocks, before turning back into Park. I guess that was to make it easier for tourists?
Grain, we know it sucks. Turby is the only one who thinks it doesn't.

you dont know how it feels to pull into 15 foot barrel at salt creek though, so you dont know why I love it here so much...
Anyway, Im in San Clemente too. We just roll Talons here. With Josiahs 97 and Shawn's 97 I have all the wingmen I need in a few miles. It's nice here (although crowded I notice these days, wasnt like that so much years ago) and the surf is GOOD. You haters can go to hell. My women are hotter. lol.

Well, I DO like San Clemente. We went surfing over there just before the weather turned really cold, and it was beautiful. Hey man I'll swing by sometime. I'm actually moving to La Jolla within a couple weeks. (actually anywhere between Del Mar and Pacific Beach)

When I was out in the OC (Irvine, Laguna Beach area) I loved it. Traffic sucked but the weather was great, and having a beach right there ruled. But this is coming from a Texas boy.

I was just down at the Spectrum about a week ago...
I spend about a month out of the year in the Irvine area, since I'm IT support for an office we have out there.
I love it, it's beautiful and 10x what Kansas could ever be.
Not to mention the hotties.
