Whats the new concept behind the Black mods?

Ive seen a few members here now have the black mod symbol next to them? Whats the whole black thing about, lol?

Why not the yellow or light rownish looking color?

pretty much do the stuff that anyone whose been here long enough to have the common sense to do if they had the power, like locking FS threads that don't follow the rules, moving threads to the appropriate place and not yelling SEARCH BANME!, but helping them out instead

Yellow = admin
Silver = moderator
Black = site support

The site support crew are a few people assigned to help out the mods, make FNG's feel welcome and just help direct people to info they may need but not know how to find it.
I think it's a great concept to keep things positive around here. Rather than people jumping all over a new guys ass for not searching, they'll "suggest" what to search for rather than giving them shit or just giving them the answer. So far, it's working out very well. :thumbsup

I would say so! I've seen a couple threads where a new person has posted a question (even old ones) and had seven replies right awy welcoming them and offering good advice and information.

The official title is Support Team. They are an integral part of the overall Site Team and in less than a week, we are already seeing a lot of good things from these guys. :thumbsup

We *might* need a couple more guys sometime in the first half of 2007, depending on growth/traffic, so if this is a way in which you would like to help out around here, there's no stopping you from contacting a Support Team member and asking what they do so you can help them with their jobs. Follow their lead and, should we need more help, you'll stand out.

We aren't supposed to change things in people's profiles, so I bet that means sigs too.

I know we're not supposed to, I just wasn't sure if they did actually prevent us access to it. We're not supposed to be able to delete things either, but that buttons available, lol. I don't care either way, it's not like that's why I wanted to be part of this staff. I'm just trying to understand how to use all the new features, it was weird just opening up the site and seeing that admin link at the top

lol Thats it, Dino's avatar will die a slow death very soon. Site support does not have access to the admin panel which is where you change user abilities. Sorry, we thought of that right away.

Lol me too actually. That's pretty cool though I like the idea of some extra support, it's a lot for just a few people to handle.
