12785, Anyone work for UPS? Posted by cougar694u, Jul-25-06 02:59 AM
I remember someone on here working for UPS, or had a friend that worked there.
Long story short, I finally got a tracking number for the ECU I bought a month ago, but ups.com says it is not a valid tracking number.
He said he read it directly from the receipt when I confronted him about it and read it to me again:

Is there any way this can be looked up on the back end to find out tracking info?

I've got a buddy down here who works for UPS. I haven't seen him in a while, but I'll give him a call this afternoon. (He works nights.)

Cool, thanks.
It sucks waiting so long on 1 part to just turn the key and fire it up. I feel like a kid on the last day of school watching the clock, but seconds take minutes and minutes take hours.

I wouldn't worry about it now. I finally got a real tracking number from dude.
I still want the 'bad guy' post to be posted, though. I can revise it to leave out name, address, and phone number, though.

He just shipped it about 5 minutes ago, so it's not in the system yet, but at least UPS doesn't kick it back saying it's invalid.

Yeah, he strung me along for a month. Then, he conveniently had 2 and was going to just ship me the 2nd. When I called yesterday, he said he was going to the UPS Store to check on the package and while he was there decided to ship out one he 'stole from his neighbor'. :rolleyes
For 2+ fuckin years, this car hasn't seen fire, it's been ready for almost 2 months. The first month was locating an ECU, the 2nd was spent with my thumb up my ass waiting for this fucker to ship it out.
**EDIT** Oh, and thx for the +2 :)

Don't ever wait 2 months for a part. If it's been over 2-3 weeks file a PayPal chargeback or if you want file a chargeback with your credit card.
If you mailed him cash/check/money order go to your post office and file a mail fraud claim.
Too many ways to be protected these days.
