Eh, I've been a fan of Thrice since First Impressions and Vheissu is one of their best pieces of work ever no doubt... but I'm one of those Thrice fans who'll argue why The Illusion of Safety is their best record just because it's one of their older albums. :shrug I need to listen to Vheissu a lot more, actually.

A lot of people are listening to Saosin lately, give them a listen.

I've really been liking some of the newer hard rock bands like Seether and Shinedown. But I also really like the The Killers. I also started listening to The Pixies (for that old school flare)...what an awsome band...heh.

If you like Goth Rock you might want to check out H.I.M. I don't really care for it but the wife to be likes there stuff.

I'm probably one of the only country music fans here.

I've been rocking Doppelganger by the Fall of Troy lately... if you only get a couple songs off it, get F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X., I Just Got this Sympthony Goin, and Act One Scene One... they rock hard. Its all progressive type stuff too, if you like the Mars Volta you will like these guys.

I have a hugely diverse taste in music. But lately I've been listening to a lot of trance/hardcore techno; Because I play too much DDR.
Laugh it up, I'm a nerd.

And if you haven't, check out The Mars Volta. They're the shit.

I can't seem to get enough Avenged Sevenfold lately. Certainly not the hardest stuff in my collection, but I love a song over 4 minutes with lots of key changes, time changes, and dueling guitar solos. I thought guitar solos were dead...

For basic rock you can never go wrong with: Coheed & Cambria, Panic! at the Disco, From First to Last (awesome vocals)....checking MP3 player....Dead Poetic, Saosin (I actually met Cove in St. Louis if anyone knows of the Creepy Crawl, great venue), Yesterday's Rising, My Chemical Romance, The Ghost, Moneen, Greeley Estates, Phoenix Rising

A little harder: The Bled, Unearth, Atreyu, The Blood Brothers, From Autumn to Ashes

To cover my ass from Dino because most of the prior is considered 'emo': 3 Inches of Blood

Holy Emo.

The only bands I like from that group is C&C and Saosin since I've been following them since Second Stage Turbine Blade and Saosin's first EP with Anthony Green. Dead Poetic is good though.

I'll let you guys judge 'from first to last'. :rolleyes

I knew you would have that reaction... :dark I can't help it. They remind me of Iron Maiden with all the time changes and crazy guitar work, and I really dig the musical aspect of their stuff. Couldn't tell you any of the lyrics or the names of the songs though.

It defiantely stands out against all the mind-numbing, unimaginative, copy-cat crap that is out there these days.

How about some music I can listen to in my car without investing in some high end tweeters just to hear the little boys whine. Anything with some beats for the subs, or something other than metal/emo/screamorockcrapwhateveryacallits.

tho i do like a lot of that music, underoath, chemical romance, mars volta...saosin is too feminine for my tastes.. p.s. that pic up there of whatever group that is...hilarious. I wouldn't be caught dead looking like that. My friend's aim quote sums it up pretty well. The only thing a nonconformist hates more than a conformist is another nonconformist who doesn't conform to the prevailing standards of nonconformity :P

Dino I just have to say, that your awesome. You keep posting the exact same things I was thinkin as I was reading through this thread. Hey Dino try downloading some of these songs from a local band here in town (I used to go to school with the guy who plays lead guitar) Here's the link to their site. www.fatalx.com IMO they sound like older Metallica.

Edit: I just noticed that their site is down right now so here is their Myspace site. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=31925249

Well since it seems that most of you listen to music that has good beats like Techno and stuff like that. Try downloading some Funker Vogt it's a like german techno metal but they sing most of there music in English (it's some good driving music IMO) Other then that I have too much to list right now.

Panic! at the disco is some wierd ass music. The lead singer sounds like Fallout boy but the music is completely crazy. When i first heard it I was like WTFOMG :love but it got old real fast, and now it kind of gets on my nerves. I have to be in the mood to hear it. You either love it or you hate it.

Man, out of all the posts, this was the only one that I knew. Hehe, sorry, not a hardcore rocker whatever. I'm into 80s to 90s music, old school alternative like Semisonic, Better than Ezra, Third Eye Blind, the usual. And since the music scene has been sucking here big time lately, I mostly listen to anything instrumental or any dance beats, and foreign songs like J-Pop/K-Pop, Thai Rock. I kinda like techno/trance/chill out music too. Just started listening to BT. He's cool, although critics say otherwise.
