Me and my little bro are looking at buying an ebay turbo kit for the hell of it and turboing my little bro's 1993 Civic LX. Anyone know anything about the D15B7 engine and if any boost will just blow it to peices?

I never liked complicating things with a Honda and you might as well start with something that's not so janky...I.E. motor swap.

Plenty of B16/B18's out there.

Hey I stopped the oil leak on my valve cover (and possibly all my oil leaks now), my suspension/brakes are all fixed up (including broken front lug stud on 1g ABS car BLEH)! I am just waiting on my injector seals which may be my last boost leak. It might all be coming together for me now! :-D

And my car isn't all bad. I think I'm the only DSMer on the planet able to hold 7psi all day with an Evo III 16g.

The d15b7 is made of glass....boost away!

Dont no anything about that particular engine, but I am very familiar with the B-series engines...and they are great (B18a/b/c1/c5, B20A5, B16A/A2/A3...etc) I personally would swap to a B-series or if you got some cash get a K20...bad ass engines

D15B7 are a good motor to learn to boost on. They will hold some boost, not sure how much. I have a friend putting down 260 HP with a d15 in his Del Sol. hes blown it a couple of times in the last 3 years, but the D15s are a dime a dozen if you need to replace one. You can pick up a good running one for about 150 ready to drop in and go at it again.

strap on a gt42r and spray some nitrous in it, pound it to 45psi

or, get a dart closed deck block and hook it up

id just leave it alone, its a peice of shit honda.

My second car is a 92 civic that I have been beating on for the past 10 years. I did some reading on the d-series motors and someone said you can't boost past 5 psi on those motors with stock internals. I would definately suggest a swap to a b-series motor but i'm not sure how much more boost those motors hold. Do some searching. I once found a site where a guy switched the head on his d-series motor and got some good power out of it.

and then three points
- full race made ridiculous power on their SOHC stock sleeve D series, over 400whp. the car was pink, and was on the TV show pinks. it was very fast.

- the B16 is a total waste of money. Decent enough horsepower, but zero torque. completely boring to drive and really slow but fuck they are loud.

- B18B for the win. Amazing good boost motor, and they are cheap since they were stock in old Integras.

VTEC is overrated... lol
