I miss it so much it's hard to sleep at night. I have had some crazy bikes in my day and I used to ride all the time. I am considering selling my 1g to buy a 2000 YZ 426.

I already have an offer of 1700 for the 1g and I will probably take it.

Never did it professionally, but I've had several bikes and loved to go ride the hill country out here, and a few places in Houston.

I think the 426 is tight. I've never been a fan of the 4-strokers, but that's one hell of a bike. I know exactly how you feel, I'd love to buy a YZ250, but I just can't afford it.

I had an old yamaha 250 that was great, then I went to a Can-Am MX-6 250, but I shattered the piston in it. Some years later, I bought another Can-Am, those were one hell of a bike. I then got a 2002? CR125 (first year with aluminum frame) and it was nice, geared, FMF pipe & can, but I got a 2000 YZ125 and it ran circles around the CR. I sold it to fund my first 2gnt and haven't had one since.

When I lived in the Houston area, my neighbor (we were on several hundred acres total) made a jump with his tractor. I ended up flying something like 36 feet, I hit the jump in 5th gear and flew. I blew the fork seals when I landed, though.

Dammit, why you gotta bring this shit up, ha!

Yea I was never pro or anything either...but one of my good friends built a track on some land he owned. I used to go ride out there all the time. I loved it.

Had bikes all my life. My last bike was a YZ 250 which I sold about 10 yrs ago.
A bunch of my friends have quads so I bought a 2005 450R as soon as the 1st black '05 came in. I never liked 4 strokes till I rode that bitch. I liked riding bikes but I think I like quads better now. Maybe cause I'm getting old. :P

I never rode motocross, but I've had a few good friends who grew up (ages 3 and on) riding motocross. I used to travel with them on Sundays for races when I was younger. They are now about 22-23 have their pro license and still race on the weekends. The one kid (Derrick), won the AMA state motocross championship in Indiana when he was 16..that was quite a year.

I stop racing 4 years ago, noting too major. I was only 14 so I was in the 80cc class. I got a few 2nd's and a bunch of misc placings. The last race I eved did was at atco, went over the bars in the woop section right infront of the stands... emt's pulling me off the feild, emergency room, it was pretty cool.

Whats shitty is me and 2 of my friends used to ride every day. My one friend who wasent as good as me and my other friend sold his bike for truck parts, I sold my bike for a boat, and my other friend kept riding. This is the first year he is racing A class. He is sponsored by thor, la sleve, wisco, some suspension company, and bunch of other companys. He goes to budd creek and all of the other nationals that are within the "area". If you look in his cell he has some well known names in their, and I here i sit thinking only if I kept with it...

I used to ride quads all the time and race for a couple of years...I got a hand full of trophy's. It got to time consuming and money consuming to be fun so I quit. Both of my quads ('87 250X..I think, and an '89 250R) have been in peices for a few years now. All my friends have sold their quads since too. I've been seriously considering putting them both back together and selling the X and riding the R since I'll soon be living near a track again, (Big Air). I work with and have know for a long time Andrew Smith, I think he pretty much dominates the "A" class in district 14 and he works close with John Arnes of "Arnes Brothers Racing". If you open any quad magizine there's a good chance you'll see either or both of thier names...they do a lot of testing of for the factories and contribute a ton to the community.

Ive raced Quad mx for the last 13 years, Ive had my current quad, a 1987/1999 Laeger Pro-Trax 250R for the last 10 years. I love it, Ive tried 4-strokes, My dad races an '05 450R and i just cant do it. Im pretty much an old school 2-stroke guy lol.

Well I am no stranger to the track. I was getting pretty competitive on practice nights back in high school on my 2000 yz 125, but sold it to come to college.

I won't be entering any races in the near future, but I do plan on making it back to the track.

My choices so far:

1997 CR 250, low miles, excellent shape 1800 obo
or
2000 YZ 250, same as above, 2200 obo

Kent, If you sell the 250X let me know, Ive been looking for one for a decent price for a while

my brother and cousins race all the time here in pa. i go and watch. its so awesome and a great time. id race, but im a huge fat person and that and racing dont mix. so i just go watch and drink beer.
