981, Off goes Sportlines, On comes Prokits Posted by Kory, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
Just replaced my 2 year old sportlines with prokits this morn... the drop is 1.2 vs. 1.8 but i swear it's hard to tell a difference in looks alone. I do notice a bit harsher ride with the prokits, due to the higher spring rates and i tested the suspension with a few rounds on the clover leaf off the highway. I like it better after i tested it on speed bumps that used to make my mud guards scrape... and now they dont. I am very happy.
The springs on their way to DSMNT96 in MD. Angel, you got a piece of my car now! :} I am happy that the springs can be put to good use... in a fellow 2gnter's car!
Suspension Mods:
-prokits -upper F STB -upper R STB -lower R TB -Suspension Techniques adj. sways F & R -Tockico Illuminas -Yoko's A520s
*soon to get Volk TE-37 18s Bronze :}

982, 18inch Volks Posted by cyan, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
Damn, so youre about to get 18" Volk's? hope you feel better after you plunk down that 3 thousand dollars for those rims, they are expensive, and believe me, you will have second thoughts once you look down and see 3G's in cash in your hands. three times i had to go make a bank withdrawal of over 2 grand for rims and each time i was reluctant. http://www.geocities.com/blue2gnt blue2gnt@hotmail.com AOL IM - ThreeRedDiamonds

If I was spending 3 grand it would be on a turbo not rims. Just my .02

Those rims are actually the last "big" thing I will do after port and polish heads, valve job, cams, gears, and S-AFC.
Then I will complete it with the volks. Then a paint job maybe???
Anyways, those rims i can get at a pretty good price, if i'd go with RH C5's still be about same amount of $ and i know some of u guys have those.
A turbo kit is NICE, but i've seen too many blown motors and the stress of having to tune/upkeep that baby on a weekly basis.
