ive only ridden in one GS and it rode pretty well, much better than my car. are they quieter on the freeway, etc, and just a smoother ride? please help, this could determine what my next car will be

they all have the same suspension really so there shouldn't be a difference. maybe your tires are making the ride stiff and noisey.

otherwise it may be worn struts from being lowered. the springs would do it too but if the GS you thought was better was lowered than that's out.

I thought the RS didnt come with lower sway bars...can sumbody confirm this?

The sway bars have nothing to do with a smooth ride, they improve cornering.

do the gs, gst, and gsx handle better then the rs? casue in all the ads it says gs eclipse with sport-tuned suspension and I havent ever seen that for an rs. I have a gs, just wondering.

Most RS's came with 14 inch wheels and no sway bars. The other three all came with bigger wheels, and sway bars. Just the difference in going from 14s to 16s increase the handling.

well, how do you guys fell that your GSs ride? before suspension mods, btw

the GS and up have more sound deadening material in them, so it will be a quiter ride, as far as the smoothness, im not sure i think its the same.

I haven't ever ridden in an RS or a GSX but I know my GS handles really well consider I have 18"s and my tires are pretty wide and sticky, so I think it rides good

Well Ive ridden in and driven both a GS, -T (stock and not stock), and -X (stock and not stock) and they all basically feel the same. The only real difference I felt was that they all felt heavier than my car, especially the X/tsi, that and the fact that the engine felt smooth as butter even when reved compared to our cars.

Well, my ESI is loud as hell. Drives me nuts. I would think it would be better since it s the equivelant of the GS but mine does not even have rear disc. And I think all GS's have them. But I have every power option and a sunroof.

...is not true. They ALL have the same mount of sound deadening material. All the chassis' are constructed exactly the same. Only when it comes to trim, engine and sway bars do they change, such as in the "I" beam and turbo engine mounting points. With the exception of the GSX all the springs are the same as well. Base Eclipses, Talons and RS's all come with JUST a front sway bar. The ESi,GS and up 2G E/T come with both. I have stripped out GST's and GSX's as well as installed sway bars on a Base Talon (mine), two RS Eclipses and one Base Eclipse. One of my closest friends has a black GS with the fatory rear sway bar which is the same as the GST. We installed 22mm progress in his. The GSX is thicker and even fits the other models. I have GSX aftermarket bars.

my RS handles fine :) Well I can't really say my RS stock handles well because the shox were blown when I bought it but it sure handled great stock to me. you just have to be careful with the throttle in cornering. 14s boooo you get massive sidewall flex. Body roll double booo. But that would probably be because of my blown shox. My car won't roll for crap now hehe. With stock suspension I was able to tear up the corners. RS does come with a sway bar it's a 16mm one. GS might be bigger I know a TSi sway bar is 19mm up front. The RS just has no rear sway bar. The GS has one buy I bet it some dinky small one. But a sway bar is better than no sway bar. MOre oversteer for me anyday!!! :) One thin about the RS is that it has drums so the car will tend to nose dive more when you brake.
