Ok heres the deal guys I want to do things rite the 1st time or atleast try to and not blow money on multiple suspension setups in the future unless they need replacement. I want the best possable suspension system I can ride on. This is a street car and will have a Hahn stage 3 w/ 20g and FMIC pushing 15 psi daily, also will be rolling on 18s or 19s. Is a suspension system like that in which Tanabe offers for over a grand the best available? Should I just go with a good spring/strut combo? I want the rolls royce of suspension available for my application and airbags are totally out of the question. Any recommendations will be very helpful.

I would go with the standard... Tokico Illuminas for shocks, Ground Control coilovers, Suspension techniques sway bars, F+R, U+L STBs. The usual. And a camber kit if you decide to lower it.

Ok illumina struts and ground control coil overs? Would it be better if I just got some eibach springs and clipped them an inch or 2? I want my car to have a fierce stance not like a low rider but more intimidateing if you know what I mean.

Its really pointless to cut springs period. If you wanta little more of a drop just go with the Sportslines vs. the Prokits. All the strut bars and sway bars mentioned by Bill sound great. The 1.3 drop is a nice drop. I have Suspension tech springs and I love the drop. 1.5" is more common after they settle. Its a good height...more performance oriented. Good Luck.

cutting springs ruin them, they are designed for a certain weight, and when you cut them, you ruin that and ruin your ride, its your car tho..........

Whats up with Tanabes 1300 dollar suspension kit? Anything special?

you get what you pay for most of the time. so yes tanabe's coilovers would be better and more adjustable than illuminas or anything else that i have heard of. but maybe not twice as good like the price suggests.

If your going all-out for a race car type vehicle then go with adjustable coilovers, although they are not cheap and are considerably stiffer than is really comfortable. If you want a good looking, comfortable ride that is still sporty as hell, RRE suggests Illuminas with the Pro-Kit. I don't know if your into the whole ultra-ricey look with the car 1/4 inch above the ground, that kind of look makes no sense to me, our cars scrape bad enough as they are, stock. A 1.3-1.5 inch drop (after settling) from the Pro-Kit will give it a more aggressive stance with considerable increase in cornering ability. You could go with the Sportline but those are supposed to ride shitty. The adjustable Tokicos are so much better than KYB it's not even a fight. That's my thought on the matter, I've ridden in both (coilover and Pro/Illumina) and while the coilovers will corner a tad faster, small bumps make loud BOOMS and I can't believe thats good for the chassis. As soon as all my graduation money comes in I'm getting the Pro/Illumina setup. Good luck.
