9449, Noise I am hearing... Posted by Niclipse, May-19-02 11:04 AM
When I am at a stop and I am going in reverse and also turning at the same time, i hear this coming from my front springs... "tick tick tick tick"
I have thrown my eclipse on a rack recently amd noticed that the drivers side coilover perch, the part that has "threads" is snapped in half.
However, I hear the ticking noise from both sides of my car. WHat do you think it is?

Man, I've asked this question like 5 times here and I never got any answers. I just gave up and will eventually take it to suspension experts. Just face it....lowering springs=noises.
I'd like to know who has lowering springs that don't have noises.

I don't have noises for now(I drove it to the alignment shop which was 100 yards away and had to leave it there).

I have a little noise now. It sounds like a small chain jingling in the right rear when I go over a series of bumps.

chain noises: If you have coilovers, your locking perches may have come lose and need to be tightened again.

LAP: I have been told before by a tech that small rubber rings that are in our strut/spring setup have probably worn through and need to be replaced. I ordered myself new coilovers (my old ones broke) and they came with these rubber rings. I'm getting everything installed this weekend, so I'll let you know if the noise went away...

I have H&R sport springs. I think the noise was my strut bar. The little things that you tighten so the bar itself doesn't twist were loose.
