everyone with custom wheels. our tire guide at work recommends your tire pressure to be at 36F 33R. i know this has come up a couple times so i thought i would clarify. on 18's it's more than reccomended as your thin sidewall can't hold as much weight so increasing air pressure is a must.

my tires say do not inflate more than 34.

mine are at 45psi. they arent 18s but are 35 series

I currently have 16x7 rims with 225/50/16 tires and want to upgrade to 17" rims (17x8)after I just installed a set of Eibach Pro-Kit Springs (1.6" Drop Front & Rear) on my 98 Eclipse Spyder GS.

My question is what size tires to get. Do I go with:

1) 215/45/17
2) 225/45/17
3) 225/40/17

I want the widest tires and eliminate as much fender gap as poosible. Before the Eibach Pro-Kit Springs installed I could fit my whole fist in the fender well and now only 2 1/2 fingers. Sweet.

If I can get it to go down to 1 finger gap with 17" rims it would be sweet.

225/45/17 will look and fit very nice alot of people have that size

225 40 17 would be the widest. if you wanted you may be able to get a 235 under there. but 225 40 is plenty wide

Do you think 225/45/17 tires with 17x7 rims be okay.

I was told that in order to fit 225/45/17 tires that I would need 17x7.5 rims and that if I get 17x7 rims I should get 215/45/17 tires.

But I see a lot of people here with 225/45/17 on 17x7 rims.

get the 225/45/17, they will be your best luck on 17x7 trust me

Very happy with my 17 x 7 and 225/45-17's.

Go to tirerack.com, find the tire and size you like than go to the tires spec page. It'll give you reccomended rim size, it says 7-8.5 is fine for 225

I run 35 psi at all four corners. Yes 225's on 7" wide will be fine.
