8743, Which Rims???? Posted by NATEdaGREAT, Apr-20-02 04:16 AM
Help me make my decision should I get Enkei RSF-2 or Konig Verdicts? And they'll be 17's so what size tires should I put on them? 205/40/17 or what? Thanks

2054017 is the smallest i'd go. for best performance get 2254517 with good tires. or 215 45 17's.

Can you tell me the difference between the:
215/45/17 tires
&
225/45/17 tires
Is one wider, higher, ect...
Which one will eliminate more of the fender gap or at least make it looked lowered.

the tire is wider...225 = tire width...45 = sidewall heigth...17 = rim size

So since their both 45/17 series tires.
the 225 would be about 1/2 - 1" wider then the 215.
What does everyone else have on their ride. 215/45/17 or 225/45/17
The 215 are a few bucks cheaper and if it's only 1/2" wider - Who cares. Does the 225 rub at all. Are there any benefits with going with the 225/45/17 instead of the 215/45/17.
Anyways. Here the rims I'm getting:

That's in Hyper-Black (Metallic like look)

225/40/18 here. gnerally speaking the advantage is a larger contact patch. more tire on the ground = more traction. just a stability thing. if it's just a few buck different then get the wider tires. gotta get the rim width to match too then.
