ok...so im planning on lowering my car..the oniy problem is that im not sure what all im going to have to do... i know i have to rent a spring compressor to put them on...i'll probably need a camber kit and what else do i need to get done? do i need an alignment??

this is the only thing holding me back..other than the decision of whether to get springs or coilovers......

I needed a spring compressor, you can do without but the nuts are going to go flying off very fast.

I only have the rear camber mod done, no front until I buy wheels.
Alignment I didn't do for a long time because my car still went pretty straight.

and about that compressor..i'd rather be safe than sorry... lol..i lose enough nuts by myself anyways...

Is adjusting the height of your ride really that important to you?? To me it wasnt and I just went for a drop that I knew would be sufficient and got springs. To lower it you will need a jack, of course, all the necessary wrenches, a torque wrench would be ideal (i didnt have one though and just tightened the hell out of everything), some wd-40 to help break the bolts loose, and a breaker bar if possible. It took me about 5hrs to do and without a breaker bar I ended up with bruised hands like a motha fucka. Good Luck and if you have any ?'s let me know

I have a few ?'s I am planning to replace my shocks/struts and springs on monday. Tokico Illuminas and H&R Sport spings. I know I will need the camber hardware(it's on the way) how in of an alignment will I be? I really don't want to mess up my Falken tires.

I would wait on the installation of the struts and springs until you get the camber kit so you can do everything at one time. As far as the alignment, depending on how much you lower the car it shouldnt be bad enough to ruin your tires withing a couple of weeks. I would get it done as soon as possible though

If you are ever worried get an alignment and get a camber kit.

I also dont give a shit right now because I am on 14's. Tires are $40 each but when I have to pay $140 a tire Im getting a camber kit and getting it aligned and checked every so often.

My alignment was WAY off with my H&R sports. You will need both front and rear camber kits. You don't HAVE to do the camber kits right away, its really easy to do both the front and rear after the spring install. I did mine with the tires still on the car for both front and rear..very simple. Also, only get the alignment done after you have the complete setup done including the camber kits, and wait several days for the springs to settle to get the alignment done. My car handled very poorly after the install, so don't drive too much until its aligned..

I will have to let the shop do my camber kits. I have them on the way(two day air) I hope I get them friday. I don't have the right tools or time to do the install myself or I would do it.

ok so here's the info. removing struts and putting them back on will throw your alignment. changing ride height will throw your alignment. and if your installing a camber kit you will DEFINETLY be out of line. you will definetly need an alignment. if you ride around cambered in the inside of your tires will wear out quickly. my friend with the 19's on the clips just came in last friday to put new tires on he's dropped 4 inches on stock struts. the outsides of his tires were nearly perfect. he's been lowered for about 6 weeks. get the alignment.
