Say your gonna be drag racing with like a 11-12 second Eclipse. What are the widest tires you can put on that sucka and what would be optimal? What are the widest tires you guys are running? Also whats optimum for racing a high powered car in the corners?

I've talker to someone(who might be joining my Va club) and he has 235's, they just barely fit. I would go with 225's on 8in wide rims, gives you largest patch, best fit, and stiffer sidewalls for the corners.

225 50 16 wont' fit on the stock wheel. our stock wheels are 16X6. you need at least another inch of width

i thought you mean biggest you've ever seen. for me that's optional rar tire size on a viper. 335 35 18 that's like 13 inches wide

Well, I am getting spacers made up so that I can get my 8.5"X17" tires with 245/45/ZR17 3000GT VR-4 rims. They will just barely fit, but they will fit. What was that you said about 225s being wide as hell? :P

I have some mim venezia wheels in 17x7.5 w/ 235/45hr17 yokohama avid h4 tires. They fit great, and have never rubbed. I haven't even had to roll my fender lips like I have heard a lot of people do. justin
